Item description for Learning How to Trust... Again by D. Delph Ed, Alan Heller & Pauly Heller...

Learning How to Trust Again explains the operation of our ability to trust and illuminate precisely what goes wrong when we are deeply hurt. We prescribe restorative 'medicine' that, combined with earnest prayer, courage and the power of God, will enable us to begin to trust again and subsequently resume a normal fulfilled life. There is a mixture of stories, psychology, common sense, and most importantly the Word of God, that will help you to understand what went wrong and how to fix it. This book will empower you to overcome what we believe is the greatest practical enemy of your emotional, physical and spiritual well being: the inability to trust!

Community Description
How thick is the wall you've built around your heart? Maybe your wall is only a single brick because of a hurt you experienced as a teenager. Or maybe your wall is a thick concrete slab because of the pain of a divorce or broken promise. Either way, you have decided not to trust anyone---even God.

This book speaks to the heart of your relationship and provides the tools to demolish the wall. Deep down you realize that the wall you've built also keeps out the One who can restore you.

Through true-life stories and God's Word you will learn:

* How to regain your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being
* Steps to rebuild relationships
* Five keys to regaining trust
* Three barriers to completely trusting God
* What went wrong and how to fix it

Reviews - What do customers think about Learning How To Trust...Again?

Forgiving and Trusting Again  Mar 26, 2007
Learning How To Trust Again- Good book about learning how to trust people and God again. We must know God in order to trust him. And we know him by knowing his Word.

We will be disappointed at times when we trust in people. God is the only one we can really trust in. Trust is a process just like losing trust is a process.

The first step in trusting, is forgiving others. Then God can work by his Holy Spirit in the person that we have lost trust in. Remember all things are possible with God.
Help for Hurting People  Mar 18, 2007
"Learning How to Trust Again" speaks to the heart through real-life stories about people facing difficult contemporary issues. The book provides wonderful tools, centered on Scriptural truths and Biblical examples that will help you recapture your well being, rebuild failed relationships, and renew your trust in God. The authors clearly lay out your options and walk you through the recovery process.

Within the text are important questions to help you apply key principles to the specific trauma that is robbing you of trust, whether divorce, financial loss or ruin, death or loss of a loved one, a broken relationship, or childhood trauma. The authors point the reader to resources and supportive forums that are available to assist in the process of healing and wholeness.

Application of these Biblical truths will instill a new sense of trust, inner joy, and happiness, to transform your life. I plan to use these spiritual lessons to help me work through the process of forgiveness so that I can walk the trust walk of faith.

"Learning How to Trust Again" reveals how trust is destroyed and how it is rebuilt. Full of deep spiritual insight the book is written for everyone in the recovery process wanting to experience restoration. This book should be on the suggested reading list of every lay, pastor, and professional counselor.
