Item description for Ice Cream for Freaks by Dejon...
In the tradition of cult literary icon Donald Goines, Ice Cream For Freaks is written with a realness that accurately depicts the harsh realities of the story's urban backdrop. Main character, Ice, has a reputation of being a brutal and daring stick-up kid, but when he lands in an upstate New York prison, both his reputation and his manhood come into question after an unforgettable and terrorizing encounter in his cell with a prison Homo Thug.

Hot as Ice Jul 26, 2008
I've read Ice Cream For Freaks in one day, the book was hot as a stick-up kid Ice was dangerous, cold and calculating. He did his dirt and when he went to prison what's done to him there he took like a champ, you have to read the book to find out why the book is titled in such a way. But for Ice revenge is around the corner, I'm a fan of this book and i've heard a sequel is on its way, until next time try not to melt.
Nice... Mar 28, 2008
For some reason I was just exspecting more then what went down. I enjoyed this novel and I will no doubt purchase part 2, and in doing that I hope the story line is greater and more thugged out as far as Ice is concerned. He started out like he had his game all tight...then after doing that bid he lost all that knowledge..it's like falling in love with a fake. Give me that thug in the very beginning and keep him that way.

Nathaniel a.k.a. Ice is far from your average, grimy stick up kid. This light-skinned, green eyed character will charm you just as he did the characters in this book. Loving the fast life, Ice has devoted his life to robbing the untouchable drug lords in his neighborhood. But when he robs Supreme, a heavy hitter in a growing drug cartel, a domino effect of murder and mayhem erupts. Things get even seedier, when Ice lands in prison and is tested by the jails homo thug. Told in a style that has been compared to Donald Goines (I am not sure if I would go that far), this is a brutal novel. Slow to start, violent when it does, and filled with a ton of characters (some of which could use better development), this was an okay read--spectacular...NO...alright...yes.
1. What did you like best about this book? I loved every twist and turn, it kept me guessing all the way to the last page.
2. What did you dislike about this book? I hated the fact it left me hanging, but it sets the stage for a great sequel.
3. How can the author improve this book? Not sure what the author could improve.
THIS BOOK WAS WIGGIDY-WACK!!! Aug 8, 2006
I'm sorry Dejon, but this book was not good at all. It was all over the place. I guess its one of those books where inside of it, the world is just too small because all the characters connected in some way. But as far as the title, that had nothing major to do with the book. And yea, whatever happened to him while he was locked up didnt effect how he lived his life when he got out. And that my dear readers, is why the book was WIGGIDY WACK!!! Nevermind how everyone who got killed, the killings were so exaggerated...nothing really like real life.
The HOTTEST book I read in a long time!!!!! Apr 22, 2006
Dejon's first novel was crazy ill with alot of unsuspected drama and freaky sex! I couldn't put the book down because everytime I turned a page the plot had all kinds twists and turns that will throw you off guard everytime. Dejon I am very much looking forward to reading your second book MY SKIN IS MY SIN and Part 2 of ICE CREAM FOR FREAKS in the future. I'm sure I will read those books in under a day also. Keep up the good work! God bless.
P.S. My friends and I want to know when are you doing a book signing in our city?(Smile)
