Pursuing the Christ by Jennifer Kennedy Dean Dec 11, 2009
Pursuing the Christ is a book that will remind readers of the true meaning of Christmas while celebrating the Advent. There are morning and evening prayers and Bible verses for each day of the month of December. Each day will give the reader a chance to slow down and focus on the hope and joy of this season. This book is compact and can be taken along for a quiet moment anywhere.
This is a very nice little book. The writings are very relaxing and very appropriate for the season. With all the running around during this season and with many wanting to remove Christ from the festivities during this time, Pursuing the Christ really does an effective job of bringing our hearts back to the One who really matters.
This book could have been better is it was a little prettier. The writing is beautiful, but this book could be even more enjoyable if the pages had some illustrations or prettier paper. The pages look a little plain, but the words are lovely. This is a very good book for us all to read and enjoy for the Christmas season.

Pursuing the Christ is a 31-day devotional for the Christmas season. Beginning on December 1st and ending on the 31st, this Christmas devotional is rich in scripture that will put you in touch with the true meaning of Christmas, as well as help you to stay focused during a time of year when it is so easy to lose sight of that which we try to so hard to stay focused on: Christ.
Jennifer Kennedy Dean puts these concepts into easy to read and easy to understand words, bringing to light new ways to look at scripture we have been reading for years. With her thoughts and word illustrations, this will be a book you will want to pick up year after year.
Each day has a morning and an evening reading, as well as a thought for the day. If you are strapped for time some days, you can just pick out the thought for the day and not feel as if you have missed an entire day of reading. This will pick up just in time for the Advent season and finish up on New Year's Eve.
I hope you enjoy this book! With Christmas around the corner, I wish you a blessed one!
