Item description for Heart's Cry: Principles of Prayer (Impact) by Jennifer Kennedy Dean...
Overview "As the recommended resource for the National Day of Prayer, Heart's Cry will help believers learn how to listen for God's answer to their deepest cry. Dean will uncover for readers the principles of heart-changing prayer. She will help believers see that the principles of prayer are not steps to making God do what they want. Instead, the principles show them that once a heart is given to God, He changes that heart as He sees fit. That knowledge frees believers to live fully in God's power. "

Reviews - What do customers think about Hearts Cry (Revised)?
Straightforeward and Practical Mar 3, 2007
The Birth to Five Book: Confident Childrearing Right from the Start
I like Dean's style of writing in Heart's Cry. It's a straightforeward book about making your heart right before God. Through practical stories and examples we see how the principles of prayer can change us.
The powerful quote on page 78 reveal some of this book's value, "A thankful heart requires an eternal perspective. If your goals are short-term and material, the difficulties you encounter will be stumbling blocks. If, however, your goal is to be made in the likeness of Christ, life's difficulties will be stepping-stones."
Although I read it for personal use, I could see it as a group study book because at the close of each chapter is a Meditation, a Reflection and Review questions.
