Item description for Lighten Up!: Great Stories from One of America's Favorite Storytellers by Ken Davis...
Overview Presents a collection of Christian anecdotes that focus on themes of human fallibility and finding humor in everyday life.
Publishers Description Ken Davis is a very funny guy. And as his friends and family will tell you, he's also a very wise one. After all, who but a wise guy would blow the toilet in his new home to smithereens with an M-80 firecracker? Or end up in a hotel lobby wearing nothing but strawberry underwear and the latest addition of USA Today? Only Ken Davis could pull these stranger than life stories together and use them to drive home insights that cut to the heart of Christ-like living. Because Ken, being Ken, knows what human fallibility is all about. He knows how tough we adults can be on ourselves. He knows how hard we try to appear more together than we really are. And to all of us, he offers two words of very solid wisdom: LIGHTEN UP! Ken's hilarious and touching stories underscore one simple, encouraging theme: God's grace is for you. You're not perfect, but you are perfectly loved by God. So take heart. God doesn't just love you, he enjoys you. No reason you shouldn't, too!

Reviews - What do customers think about Lighten Up!?
For the whole family Jul 10, 2001
Ken Davis' Lighten Up was great for the whole family, including parents and children aged 8 and 18. Very nice for long trips or for listening while working around the house.
Funny and Thought-provoking! Apr 25, 2000
Ken Davis does a fantastic job of telling true stories which anyone can relate to. His overall messge is powerful and positive. He urges each of us to be true to ourselves, and to see the humor in life all around us. Davis has a strong personal faith in God, but he doesn't hit you over the head with his beliefs. My 8 & 10 year old children were laughing out loud and (I hope) absorbing the underlying message as well. He is terrific! I am eager for the next one!
