Item description for Cut the CRAP and Resolve Your Problems by David R. Cox & Donald A. Sanders...
CRAP really gets in our way! Most people have all the good intentions in the world. But when it comes to making the most of our personal lives, we often drop the ball. Why is it that the biggest enemy we have to fight in life turns out to be ourselves? When it comes to reaching our goals and finding that feeling of success in our personal lives, we place all kinds of roadblocks in front of ourselves.
CRAP comes in many forms, but broken down into its four component parts, the authors of this really practical, straight-from-the-shoulder book identify the four main components.
"C"atastrophizing -- putting a worst possible spin on any event (even before it happens); "R"ationalizing -- the misuse of logical thought; "A"gonizing -- the fear that keeps us from making decisions (no matter how small); and "P"rocrastinating -- putting off things as long as possible (often, too long).
Anyone can take control of their own life. It really is a simple as implementing the easy-to-understand and easy-to-use strategies found in the pages of this highly positive book. You can experience a revitalized YOU in just a matter of days.
Don't let the minefields of indecision and fear keep you from acieving your goals and reaching the personal success you desire. You really can learn to Cut the CRAP out of your life and resolve the problems that are holding you back.

Great book Aug 7, 2002
"Cut the CRAP and Resolve Your Problems" is one of, if not the best, self-help books of the past 5 years (That is -- besides the book I wrote, THE PROCRASTINATOR'S HANDBOOK.) Why? Because it delivers on its promise of being a simple yet compelling process to help each of us achieve our goals. What Drs. Cox and Sanders have done is to distill into four easy to remember words, the four things that we all do to get in our own way. These four words--Catastrophizing, Rationalizing, Agonizing and (my favoritie) Procrastinating--are explained in detail both as to what they are and how they act as obstacles to success. For example, if you are deeply in debt, it is primarily related to rationalizing. If you are still in the same job after 10 years, it is probably due to agonizing. And, of course, if that degree program isn't yet completed, it is probably due to procrastinating.
The exercises are really helpful and I liked the way the authors recommend that you read the book first, then go back through and do the exercises. In summary, if you let it, this book can really make a difference in your life.
