David N. Mitchell, an Iowa native, is a freelance writer with an M.S. degree in journalism from the Unviersity of Iowa and an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army Counter-Intelligence Corps. With the exception of a three-year lapse into retail sporting goods, he has spent more than three decades as a mildly antic reporter and editor for newspapers including The Wall Street Journal, the Milwaukee Journal, the tucson Citizen and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. A former 10-year resident of Tucson, he and his wife Cheryle now live in Santa Fe, where she is editor of the Museum of New Mexico's magazine.
David N. Mitchell currently resides in the state of Iowa.

Nice, but a little confusing Dec 30, 2007
It is a beautiful book, with nice pictures and good information, but the structure of the book is confusing. If you want to find details about a specific scenic road, it is a little difficult to find.
