Item description for Turning Toward Joy: Discover a Happiness That Circumstances Cannot Change (Turning Point) by David Jeremiah...
Overview This study of the book of Philippians teaches that you can experience the joy of the Lord in your daily life.
The apostle Paul's most personal letter was sent to the Christians of Philippi. This intimate and loving epistle was written to believers who lived in the shadow of the Roman tyrant Nero. Paul himself was in a Roman prison, facing an uncertain future. Surprisingly, he wrote to the Philippians of the importance of Christian joy. As they were together in a worshiping community, in the midst of their difficulties, they could experience the joy that Jesus promised those who follow him.
In this pastoral and practical book, David Jeremiah will lead you through the book of Philippians so that you can learn to experience the joy of the Lord in your daily life.

Philippians... Nov 6, 2008
Philippians... Even though Paul was in prison, he found joy. When you have Jesus Christ in your heart, you can find joy even in the midst of trials. I'm always on the lookout for really good bible studies. I teach an adult Sunday School Class, and we like a good solid Bible Study. The anecdotes and scripture references fill the pages of Turning Toward Joy. The anecdotes make the study very interesting and put a perspective on it. There is a study guide in the back of the book. The questions in the guide correspond to the scripture highlighted in that chapter. The first question is an icebreaker, and the next several are discussion questions. Following those, are reflection questions. This study of Philippians will make a great study individually or in a small group.
