Dave and his wife Karen love living in NW Florida, doting over their grandson Benjamin, their two daughters Becky and Tiffany, and Tiffany's husband Ben. Dave will tell you that the problems facing America today cannot be fixed through economics or politics, because our problems are not economic or political. They are spiritual and without a revival coming to America our nation will not rediscover its national virtue and return to what the Founding Fathers had envisioned when constructing our Constitution.

No Nonsense Primer for Chirstians Jan 4, 2008
There are far too many Christians who have been conned into believing that there is a de facto "separation of church and state" in our nation which prohibits them from bringing their faith into their politics. Chirstians are always told, that politics and religion "don't mix." And that we are electing a "president not a pope" and so on. The fact of the matter that this nation was founded by Evangelical Christians who knew that this country would only survive if our nation's leaders were led by godly wisdom. They knew that our ability to govern ourselves would be directly proportional to living our Christian faith. They knew that our rights were inalienable (i.e. God given) and that if we were to survive and prosper that we would have to ensure that Christ would be King. That's righ- no other King except for Lord Jesus. Politically incorrect? You bet. But nevertheless- the truth. For over 300 years, Americans knew the Bible backwards and forwards. God's word was the very foundation of not only our Founding Documents and Republican government but also of how we treated one another.
That began to change radically around the middle of the 20th century. When the Supreme Court ruled in 1962 that in Engel v Vitale that school prayer was unconsitutional and that the Bible could no longer be taught, Biblical truth was essentially replaced with post modern secular humanism-moral relativism.
And since that time almost 50 million babies have been murdered in the name of "privacy." Sodomy based "marriage" is now "legal" in the Cradle of Liberty. Teen age suicide is an epidemic.
The culture war is at a fever pitch. Christians have by and large stood on the side lines (turning the proverbial "other cheek") compartmentalizing thier faith not wanting to "mix politics and religion" not wanting to "offend." Meanwhile, 3000 babies a day are hamburgered. One 9-11 each day, and we wonder why 60 million people are on some type of anti-depressent medication?
Christ did not call His followers to compartmentalize their faith. He called us not to be "pragmatists" but to be principled narrow minded (He is the "narrow gate")uncompromising courageous unafraid righteous people. He called us to live our faith literally.
In "Understanding Evangelicals" David Jeffers provides a much needed concise yet comprehensive primer for Christians who wonder what God actually says about the various social and political issues of our day (homosexuality, abortion, war, taxes/economy, the environment, etc..). Bottom line is that if America is going to be preserved, it will depend on whether Spirit Filled Christians take part in combatting the secular socialists and nominal Christians who seek to totally transform our nation into a secular-socialist nation and part of an internationalist government. Christians must take a stand now especailly with regard to ending abotion once and for all and protecting traditional marriage and the family. God will not protect our land if we continue to allow babies to be murdered. Nor will He protect our nation if we continue to romanticize and glamorize sodomy. It's that simple. If America is going to survive, Christians must take a stand and decide unto whom they will be serving man or God. David's book should be required reading for every American who thinks of themselves as an "evangelical Christian."

Required Reading Nov 2, 2007
As we enter the election cycle, and with the political Right engaging in the same litmus test politics that kept them from achieving victory in 2006, everyone within the GOP - and everyone in general - should strive to understand what makes the Evangelical community tick.
David Jeffers' book allows arare insight into the dogma of the Evangelical community.
A Biblically Grounded Understanding Nov 2, 2007
"Understanding Evangelicals" is a staunch reminder of the core values that any biblically-grounded Christian should represent. Even though Dave approaches things from a conservative background, Christian Republicans and Democrats should be able to rally around this book's message and glean an understanding of what we should stand for as Christ's ambassadors.
Putting holy pedal to the metal...... Nov 1, 2007
This book is a worthy read. Mr. Jeffers is right on as he identifies what evangelicals need to do to make their faith count and create positive change in our world. Mr. Jeffer's solid Christian worldview is the foundation for this thought-provoking, though practical book.
