Item description for River Rock by David A. Wright...
Please replace book description with the following: All six foot two of Jake Southern stepped onto the gravel covered road atop the levee, giving him a view of the winding river and the summer haze-covered landscape of the Mississippi Delta. Jake had come home again. Home to what? He had left twenty-five years ago the town and people who had helped shape his life. Now he was summoned back. What would he discover there or uncover about himself and the people he had loved? Would he find them the same or find all his memories were lies? Jake would return to find the world along the Mississippi river different from what he had left as a young man. Was it different or was he? Murder, greed, betrayal, love and honor were what he found in coming home. And through all of this, he would find what he had been searching for all these years. David Wright says, "life really does begin at 50." That's when he began writing "stories" for family members, and through their encouragement River Rock was born. David paints pictures with words. Love of his native Mississippi Delta brought this novel to life. His talent as a Mississippi story teller, who can't help embellishing just a bit, is evident in his unforgettable characters, rich history and settings of the Delta. David spent his career in the trucking industry; the last years as a national spokesman for that industry.

Reviews - What do customers think about River Rock?
An entertaining time for yourself Feb 1, 2008
An evening of relaxation with a good book is all you can ask on a rainy evening after a hard's day work. Living in the south, David's writing surprisingly took me to my old childhood and to him I am thankful. It can only be topped off by knowing him and hoping he is busy writing his second book!
