Item description for Traitor in the Tower: John Bunyan (Trailblazer Books #22) by Neta Jackson Dave Jackson...
Overview Twelve-year-old Richard Winslow learns firsthand just how dangerous London of 1660 can be when his father is arrested for treason and imprisoned in the Tower of London. Worried about the rest of the family's safety, Richard's mother and sisters escape to Scotland, but young Richard decides to stay behind. What if his father needs him? Remaining in London is too risky, so Richard sets off for the nearby town of Bedford, where his uncle is the jailkeeper. While working for his uncle in the jail, Richard makes an unexpected friend-a prisoner named John Bunyan. Bunyan never misses a chance to preach the Gospel, even though it could result in death at the stake. Richard wants to help this brave man but is afraid of what might happen to him-and his father-if he does. Will Richard betray John Bunyan to get his father out of prison? Thrilling adventure of Christian heroes of the past for young (ages 8-12) readers.

Reviews - What do customers think about Traitor in the Tower: John Bunyan (Trailblazer Books #22)?
Excellent fictionalized biographies Feb 3, 2010
These are particularly wonderful books for children who enjoy biographies. Since they are fictionalized biographies, however, so even children who don't enjoy biographies can have the thrill of the story! Our children have read them as part of their homeschool studies. They are not only educational, but they are quite enjoyable. They are about a third grade reading level if you're interested. I would highly recommend them.
