Item description for What Guys See That Girls Don't: Or Do They? by Sharon Daugherty...
Overview The main themes of this teaching book are modesty and purity. It is addressed primarily to Christian girls (adolescents) and women. The central focus is upon ways of dress and behavior, and the author shows how a female's deportment affects man and boys. She stresses the importance of dressing and behaving in ways that will not arouse the sexual lusts of males. In doing so, she discusses the masculine propensity for visual lust and contrasts this with what she calls a female's "lust to be lusted after," which the author explains as being the reason why young women may choose to dress in provocative and immodest ways. Daugherty gives numerous examples from the Scriptures and the life experiences of herself and others to fortify her main points.

Reviews - What do customers think about What Guys See That Girls Dont?
Sexist trash Dec 13, 2009
This is just another example of sexist jargon used to repress young women. This book would have a young girl believe that men are nothing but slathering animals and that she is just a piece of meat to be lusted after (and as such it is her responsibility to say no, and that boys can't be expected to be sexually responsible). Instead of buying this, maybe you should purchase a book written to actually teach a young women about their sexuality, and how that relates to sex, and it's consequences, with ACTUAL RESEARCH instead of Christian rhetoric used to portray women as objects that can be "sullied."
A Must-Read for All Christian Women Jul 30, 2009
She offers great insight on modesty and how guys are different from girls. I also loved the chapter on The Perfect Body Trap - so true.
All Christian girls should be reading this.
Don't Buy Mar 11, 2008
Poorly written and completely unoriginal. This book lacks the backing of any research material and seems to be full of Christian jargon. The author uses phrases like "I've heard" and "I believe" to her discredit. The book seems judgemental and ridiculous... and that's coming from a conservative Christian. There are lots of great Christian books on this topic on the market, don't waste you time or money on What Guys See That Girls Don't Want.
