Deeply Moving! May 7, 2009
The Song of Solomon has always been difficult for me to read. Dana opened a window. Sentence after sentence, page after page, fresh air came flowing in. This book didn't just speak to my mind...it spoke to my heart. It describes my love affair with Jesus in words I can't even speak.
Growing in love for God through every season of the journey Aug 28, 2008
Deep unto Deep has helped me to find every season in my journey as a launching place to grow deeper in my relationship with the Lord. She explains how each season can be a window of opportunity to grow in our capacity to love God - from dry barrenness to deep and sometimes painful longing to seasons of fulfillment and abundance. Dana is able to express deep truths in simple yet poetic language that is a delight to read over and over again. I've purchased over 40 copies to share with friends, and am now purchasing another 50 to teach to a junior high bible class. It's a classic you will have to replace on your bookshelf because you keep giving it away.
Excellent Work Jun 20, 2008
Dana Candler puts words to what so many feel. We possess a conviction that prayer matters, but often feel like it lacks excitement. Dana's revelation of the nobility within barren prayer is stunning. This book impacted me deeply. It is a great read for people in the local church that are called to stay faithful even in hard times.
