I like the book, even though there are things I dont agree with. I'm trying this treatment and hope it wil work. What I ask myself if they're still in use or they proved wrong presently.
Old & in the Way is wrong! Apr 3, 2005
This book saved my life! I highly reccomend it! 20 yrs ago when I was 30 I could barely walk. I was always in so much pain... every dang joint in my body! Now I am totally healthy at 50!!! The book does talk about exercise... not to do it unless your joints are oiled!! It would be like starting a car without oil... the moving parts would be damaged. Exercise when you're healed! Follow the guidelines in this book & your joints will be oiled! It worked for me! I just wonder where I would be today without my dad giving me this book 20 yrs ago.

Whether or not his theories are scientifically correct, the advice in this book produces great results.

When my grandfather wrote this book, my mother was just two years old. I know a lot has changed in the world of medicine and scientific discovery has improved all of our lives, but one constant remains, nothing is better for preventing a problem or solving one than good common sense. My grandfather was well ahead of his time, his theories teach people that a simple solution is often times the best solution. Now almost 50 years later, evidence and testimonials have proven him to be right, and because it is in all of our best interests to protect our joints and our bodies, take this book home and read through it.

I'm not sure the text has been updated since the original copyright in 1954. Certainly the current nutritional advice is at odds with much of what this simplistic book recommends. And it doesn't even mention exercise! Common sense tells me to take advantage of more recent scientific studies of arthritis.
