More About David Clydesdale
Crystal Lewis (born September 11, 1969) is an American contemporary Christian/Gospel vocalist, songwriter and author.
Time – the continuum of experience in which events pass from the future through the present to the past. In one respect, time does not seem to define the career of critically acclaimed singer/songwriter and multi-Dove Award winner, Crystal Lewis. In a day and age where so many artists come and go, Crystal’s unbelievable voice and undeniable message has withstood the test of time. In the year 2009, Crystal will celebrate 24 years as a successful recording artist. Within those 24 years, Crystal has released 20 English albums (including one remix project and two live projects) and 7 Spanish albums and does not show any sign of slowing down. In Spring 2006, Crystal released her first ever children’s project, Joyful Noise.
Crystal Lewis currently resides in the state of California.
I really like this CD. I bought it when it first came out and never listened to it. Then I put it in and was like WHOA! and fell in LOVE with it! I prefer 'Fearless' b/c it's a little closer to my style (black gospel/R&B) but I love this CD. Its old, i know, but still great!
Love It! Jan 29, 2002
This was the first CD I purchased from Crystal Lewis. I was blown away by the passion in her voice. The title song "Gold" is truly inspiring and my favorite song when I need encouragement. I'm looking forward to checking out other CD's by this artist.
What happened to Crystal Lewis? Jan 7, 2002
This is not the WORST Crystal Lewis CD EVER MADE! I have been a fan of Crystal Lewis since 1992, and one of my first CDs was Crystal's 1987 recording "Beyond The Charade" (which is ultimately her best). My dad has let me borrow all of her cassettes. I checked this CD out at my public library and I thought it was terrible. If you want good Crystal Lewis, buy "Beyond The Charade" (good luck trying to find it) or her new CD+DVD release "More" which features some classic and brand-spanking new Crystal Lewis. Just stay away from this terrible CD!
"Gold" is indicative of content, as well as title. Dec 14, 2000
"Gold" has got to be the most powerful introduction to Crystal Lewis' love of Music and God, all in one CD. Lewis' powerful, expressive voice soars over truly intense material, and forces the listener to journey with her, whether that journey be religious or spiritual. Songs like "Tomorrow,""Return To Me,""For Such A Time," and "Remember Who You Are" force the listener into a sensitive self-examination. "Gold,""Lean On Me,""What About God," and "Dyer Road" express a need for faith throughout sorrow and hardship. "Why,""God And I,""Be With Him,""Not The Same," and "Lord I Believe In You" are expressions of what I assume to be a true Christian's faith in God despite, all that stands contrary. I suggest this album for Crystal Lewis' musicianship and vocal prowess, but most of all I suggest this CD because the journey is one that the devout atheist, stalwart Catholic, questioning Christian, and even I, the non-religious believer, can, have, and will gain from.
Great Contemporary Gospel Singer Apr 29, 2000
I have to admit I didn't know much about Crystal Lewis before she teamed up with Kirk Family to do the song "Lean on me" which is extraordinary! Her voice is elegant and powerful and she proves that she can ride hard with any secular divas. Her album is a good mix of Gospel and contemporary christian music that has tinges of R&B. She is one of Gospel's best kept secrets. It is also interesting to know that she won the Dove award for 1998 vocalist of the year (Christian eqvivalent of the Grammys!
