Reviews - What do customers think about Giving Ourselves to Prayer: An Acts 6:4 Primer for Ministry?
A deeper understanding Jul 12, 2009
Since I teach a Sunday School class on prayer I have quite a few books that have been written on the subject of prayer, however, this one book is by far the most detailed and well written book on prayer that is in my library.
The format of the book is in textbook form with many various authors. This gives a broad view of the different aspects on prayer. The writers all seems to have a solid Biblical foundation and it is not written with a theological slant, but rather with an understanding of true and pure prayer.
It is my opinion that this book belongs in every pastors personal library as well as the elders, deacons and deaconess. What is most important about the book is that the laymen of the church can easily read and understand it's concepts. It will challenge the reader to think in a broader way as they approach the throne room of God in prayer.
Sanpshots of prayer practices Feb 27, 2009
Unfortunately, I found this to be a disappointment. While there are individual sections that are inspirational, educational, and speak to me, overall I found this to be pretty mediocre.
Book Review Oct 30, 2008
October is "Pastor Appreciation Month", this was purchased as a gift for the pastor of my church. It was suggested and recommended by the prayer minister of my church. Our pastor seemed extremely pleased to receive this as a gift.
