Item description for Basic Principles of Biblical Counseling: Meeting Counseling Needs Through the Local Church by Larry Crabb...

Overview
With compassion and urgency, this book makes a plea for parishioners to engage in "grappling soul to soul with troubled lives." It looks toward a method of counseling which neither overlooks sin nor is reduced to a simplistic model of confrontation and exhortation.

Publishers Description
'The local church should and can successfully assume responsibility within its ranks for restoring troubled people to full, productive, creative lives.' 'If we are to hope for success in such immense and seriously neglected responsibility, pastors need to return to the biblical model not of ministering to their people but of equipping their people to minister to each other by using their spiritual gifts.' 'Congregations need to regain that wonderful sense of 'koinonia' fellowship and pro practice true community.'

Reviews - What do customers think about Basic Principles Of Biblical Counseling?

Basics for Counciling in a Biblical World  Feb 4, 2001
This book is wonderful material for helping those who want to help God's people. Some people start off counceling by trying to get the Christian to pray more and read more. Dr. Crabb takes counceling beyond these basic steps and challenges the heart behind the sin (Matth 5&6). Dr. Crabb keeps counceling simple and helps to give practical steps in removing "sin's decietfulness" as well as effectively using the Bible to change someones life.
