Overview
Speaketh the Language of Him A man comes home and says to his wife, "I had a horrible day at work today." She says, "Tell me about it." "I just did," he replies. Men and women communicate differently - and, all too often, not at all! This book is a sort of "linguistics" school that will teach you to speak your husband's language: male . You'll discover simple ways to cultivate a sense of humor about your male and female differences, open conversations with him - and keep them going, frame what you're saying with masculine interest areas, respond proactively to what your husband shares, and develop thicker skin (this alone is worth the price of the book). Change up your language, spice up your marriage! It'll be your husband's favorite thing you've ever done...well, almost!

Story Behind the Book
"The concept for this book was born at five o'clock in the morning as I was working out," says Connie. "To keep myself awake, I thought about what Nancy and I should write to follow "The Politically Incorrect Wife" . 'What's a topic that almost every married woman in America is interested in?' I asked myself. Almost instantly, the answer came: How to get your husband to talk to you. Thus began a lot of reading, researching, surveying, and practicing. We were surprised time and again at what worked, and what didn't We think you will be as well."

Reviews - What do customers think about How to Get Your Husband to Talk to You?

Some good ideas, but tone is a bit degrading to women  Mar 20, 2008
I really wanted to like this book...however, the tone really makes a woman feel a bit like a doormat. There is little encouragement of actual being "real" with the person you are with. Intelligent women appreciate advice that allows them to be open and honest about their needs and to be able to compromise. The focus of this book seems to leave this out.

Speak Your Husband's Language  Jan 23, 2008
"How to Get Your Husband to Talk to You" is one of the most helpful marriage books I've ever read. It gives practical advice you can use to immediately change your relationship.

Even if you have no problems in the area of communication, the sage advice will teach you a lot about how to be even happier in your marriage. Each chapter is only two to three pages long so you can read a few chapters a day while putting relevant ideas into practice.

While this is written for Christian women, the advice will work no matter what you believe. This book will work best for women who have a dominant feminine energy who are married to men with a dominant male energy. This book also works best when you jot down notes while you are reading and put the advice into practice over one to two weeks. What I appreciated most about this book is how it gives a woman full control over her destiny.

The idea about taking out the garbage (instead of nagging) is worth the price of the book and will solve many arguments. I now take out the garbage when I go to get the mail and there are no more arguments. My only complaint is that the authors didn't give ideas on what a husband could do instead of jobs he hates. In my marriage we each have jobs to make things fair. The chapters on being a better listener are also life changing. All I can say is that communication is essential if you want to stay married and this book will give you the tools to take charge of your married life.

How to Get Your Husband to Talk to You   Oct 6, 2007
Great book! The viewpoints are so true to real life communication between husand / wife, male / female. I refer to it all the time now. I purchased copy for a girlfriend and have also recommended to several others.

Very Highly Recommended  Jun 21, 2007
This book is invaluable.

I learned more about myself from this book than any other book I have ever read. The book encourages women to look at their own behaviors first and the rest (getting your husband to talk to you) will follow.

A must have!

I wish I had had this book many years ago...it would have saved me much frustration.

Every wife should read this book  Jan 8, 2007
This was one of the better books I've read on marriage. The chapters are short and cover a variety of topics on improving your relationship, particularly as a wife - not just, if you do this, he will talk, but rather helpful lifetime suggestions for treating your spouse with the upmost respect and admiration. There is much to learn from this book and I appreciated the 'realness' of the authors. Thanks for being upfront with wives Connie & Nancy!
