Reviews - What do customers think about No Deal: Temptations (Real Deal Bible Studies)?
Excellent Youth Bible Study! Oct 23, 2008
This book is one of the Concordia Publishing House's "Real Deal Bible Studies," - a series of studies designed for use with students in the ninth through twelfth grades, dealing with personal, school, family, world and faith issues.
"No Deal!" contains reproducible Student pages, and all the teaching notes needed for a leader to facilitate the studies in Sunday School, youth gathering, or home school. It deals with many temptations faced by young people; and how to resist them and live lives that honor God, through the grace and power of Christ.
There are 12 lessons, covering Pornography, Sexual Boundaries, Avoiding and Overcoming Temptations, Anger, Media, Television, Profanity, Gambling, "Little" Sins, Adultery, Sarcasm, and Shame. Each lesson is grounded in Scripture, showing God's Word to be the real source of information for students' everyday lives.
The suggested time for each lesson in this book totals 50-60 minutes. More or less time can be spent, according to class size and individual need. Each lesson is completely outlined, and directions are easy to follow.
The guidance in this book is wonderful for teens (and even leaders - including me!). The information/instruction presented is relevant, straight-forward, and Gospel focused. I highly recommend it!
