It's obvious to me that Claude Hickman knows and loves college students. But he cares enough for them to challenge them to give their lives to something eternal. I think students are yearning for a little "in your face" discipleship. Hickman's book has style, yes, but a whole lot of substance too. Every student should read it.
A quality and easy to read explanation of an important Biblical principle Jan 6, 2006
Mr. Hickman presents a discussion and explanation of God's directive to Christians to actively spread the Truth of Christ throughout the world. His style is easy to follow and he presents Biblical references throughout.
It was a pleasure reading this and though I thought I fully understood the principles of The Great Commission, Mr. Hickman offered several insights for me. This book, I believe, can be a useful tool as we actively examine and learn about our roles and responsibilities as Christians.
Inspiring Oct 12, 2005
An inspiring message from the "Pied Piper" of missionaries. But be warned: Claude will move you to act; either to do or to support others in doing. Either way, you will imagine your life filled with service for the betterment of all.
I wish I had met Claude 25 years ago. I'd be a different man for it, I'm sure.
Finally Something Worth Reading Oct 3, 2005
People of all ages are in a desperate search for meaning and purpose in their lives. The endless longing to make a difference and find purpose in a world that is intent on split second decisions and superficiality has left us insanely wide and miserably shallow. Sit back, grab a cup of joe, close yourself off from the rest of the world and take the time to consider the charge that the author is calling us to hear...do something with your life, seize it, and make a difference.
Life Changing Truths Oct 1, 2005
Claude Hickman captures the truth of the theme of the Bible--for all nations to worship God-- in his book, Live Life on Purpose. I have read several books about fulfilling your life purpose, but his is by far the most Biblical in practice. Hickman's sense of humor and personality come through in his book which definitely gives it a down-to-earth feel as well as making it easy to relate to. Hickman provides not only the Biblical basis of missions, but also provides practical applications to the truth from God's Word. I think college students and young professionals should read this book before they get settled in their careers.
