This study focuses on five Moche tombs that were excavated at the site of Dos Cabezas, on the north coast of Peru, between 1997 and 2000. The goal of the volume is to provide full documentation of the tombs and their contents in full color, describe the chronology of construction phases for the pyramid in which they were found, and explain how these tombs expand our understanding of Moche civilization.

A must for anyone interested in the Moche Apr 13, 2008
Although this book has all details that would be of interest primarily to the professional archeologist it is full of color photographs and detailed drawings of the findings which for me, an amateur, brought the text to life. Highly recommmended!!! ---and yet the story is not finished, 5 of the principals in the excavated tombs are described as "Giants", probably died in their late teens or early 20s and had bones that were "growing, ageing, and deterioring rapidly". What could account for these skeletal findings? Perhaps the book being written by Dr Alana Corde-Collins will help answer some of these remaining questions.
