Item description for Restore My Heart by Cheryl Norman...
Leo Desalvo, a loving husband and father is dead. It appears he committed suicide, but nothing could be further from the truth. And Leo's wife knows it. Although he'd rather grieve in private, Joe Desalvo agrees to help his mother prove a murder occurred, not a suicide. Sally Clay desperately needs her auto restoration business to succeed. Not only is it her livelihood, but she's caring for her father. She hopes the garage will lure him out of his self-imposed exile and back to the world of cars he once loved. But new competition, and the death of her best customer, auto dealer Leo Desalvo, leave her struggling. When Joe approaches Sally to appraise his father's rare, classic sports car, she welcomes the business. There's something fishy about the car, however, and Sally is beginning to suspect shady dealings in Leo's business. Is Joe involved too? When her long-time friend and employee is murdered, Sally realizes it's too late to back out of the investigation she's inadvertently stumbled into. And it seems it's too late for her heart as well.

Reviews - What do customers think about Restore My Heart?
An interesting and emotional ride May 3, 2008
I love old cars, so this book was right up my alley. The heroine is unique. You'll cheer for her. The mystery is good, too, with a surprising cast of suspects and villains.
What a ride! Jun 14, 2007
What an entertaining ride! (pun intended) This very unusual heroine takes you into an area where you learn about vintage cars without even realizing it. Sally is today's woman who can dare to take care of herself even in her condition. Restore My Heart keeps you guessing right to the very end when you are surprised and yet it all makes sense. This is a great summer read and you're going to miss Sally when it's all over.
Restore My Heart May 25, 2007
Joe Desalvo is at Mustang Sally's to have one of his late father's cars appraised. Leo Desalvo was co-owner of Bloom Desalvo Motors. Expecting a man, Joe is surprised to find the boss to be a woman. Sally Clay feels she has to fight for respect because she is a woman and the survivor of a terrible accident that left her with a lifelong injury.
When Sally discovers that the engine in Leo's car is not the original, Joe and Sally soon find themselves investigating the motor, then Leo's death. What they uncover puts their lives in danger.
Restore My Heart has suspense, mystery and a sweet romance. Joe is a great guy and Sally has a lot of heart and her talent with cars is very impressive as well. Restore My Heart is a good story with a very romantic ending.

exhilarating romantic suspense thriller Mar 8, 2007
Financial wizard Joe Desalvo regrets he did not come home to Louisville more frequently as he feels guilt that he failed to recognize the signs that his dad was depressed enough to commit suicide. Joe's mom believes her beloved Leo would never kill himself; she thinks he was murdered. Joe is unable to persuade his mother otherwise.
Sally Clay's bought the Mustang Sally classic car restoration business from her Uncle Sal in hope that her dad would be motivated to get out of the house to work on the autos. Her business is in trouble due to new competition and the death of her best customer Leo of Bloom-Desalvo Motors. When Joe arrives with a rare 1954 Kaiser Darrin sports car that his dad bought the day before he died, Sally is excited until she looks under the hood and finds a Ford engine inside the vehicle. She notifies FBI Agent Ferguson and Joe. As they investigate how his knowledgeable father was conned, they fall in love. However, neither realizes someone is watching their every move in case they get to close to the truth.
RESTORE MY HEART is an exhilarating romantic suspense thriller starring two likable protagonists. Sally is especially a fascinating lead character as she is wheelchair bound with a father who thinks of her as flawed. Her dad's scorn of her has led the heroine to believe a hunk like Joe would never desire her. Adding to the fine lead characterizations is the gender bending as she knows her cars while he knows how to drive an automatic. Though the villain seems out of left field and the late suspense takes away (can't explain further without a spoiler) from a wonderful contemporary, fans will want to ride with Cheryl Norman's fine Louisville slugger.
