More About Charles Monroe Sheldon
Charles M. Sheldon (1857-1946) is best remembered for his 1896 masterwork "In His Steps," the multi-million copy best-selling Christian novel that continues to challenge readers today. But he was more than a best-selling author: At the turn of the twentieth century, Sheldon was perhaps the best-known clergyman in America, a preacher whose avid support of social reforms grew out of his understanding of the Christian's responsibility to his fellowman.
Charles Monroe Sheldon was born in 1857 and died in 1944.

A most inspiring and entertaining book. Nov 25, 2008
"IN HIS STEPS" BY Charles M. Sheldon is a very inspiring and yet entertaining book. I highly recommend it to every living person, and to future generations, too. It is not too long to be boring, nor too short to not get the point across.

A MUST Read Oct 21, 2008
This book has changed my life. I have been trying to live the very principles in it ever since I started it and realized the content and what God was asking of me in the very question presented. It is not easy to do - but this book really shows it to be possible. If you desire to live a life pleasing to God - you must read this book with an open Bible in the other hand and then respond to the question, "What would Jesus do?" in your own life circumstances. Wow! Blew me away!

This book was written over 100 years ago by Charles Sheldon, a pastor in Topeka, Kansas. In 1896, Sheldon gave a sermon called "In His Steps." It was a tale of a group of committed Christians who resolved to ask themselves the question "What would Jesus do?" whenever they had hard decisions to make. Upon thinking about his sermon, Sheldon asked some members of his congregation if they would agree to live their lives for one year asking that same question. Their dedication led them to avoid the easy choices, and instead opted for difficult but spiritually rewarding projects in service of others.
The story was a big hit when first read in Topeka, and still continues to be a hit all these years later. It's a Christian classic and well worth the read.
Read it: You won't regret it. Jan 11, 2008
This book is very moving and thought provoking. I have read it twice, once just last week, and the result is the same every time. It is a book you will not forget nor regret reading. I highly recommend it.
This story will remain in my heart and mind for the rest of my life Dec 14, 2006
This books is not like the usual stories I prefer to read. I love a book that makes you want to keep turning the pages, that takes you away from reality for a while. This book instead, makes you think...but definately in a good way. It is a story that makes you think about how YOU PERSONALLY interact with others. What your contribution to the world is. It is a book that I would definately recommmend everyone should read once in their lifetime.
