Repington was educated at Eton and upon graduation received a commission in the British Army. After a career in military intelligence, he retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During the First World War and afterwards he interviewed countless numbers of statesmen, politicians, and generals. He was a keen observer and excellent political and military analyst. He died in 1925.
