More About Cary R. Bybee, Bea Kassees & Steve Gardner
You may be surprised to learn that the man behind the Last Gentile trilogy considers himself a husband and father first and foremost. In fact, scientist, musician and first-time author Cary R. Bybee is a devoted Christian and father of four who says he doesn’t even normally read Christian fictional accounts of end times prophecy – including that other well-known series.
"I still haven't read the Left Behind® books," Cary says. The Deacon's Horn and The Final Witness are the result of my own studies of the Book of Revelation. I've had readers point out the similarities between the Last Gentile trilogy and the Left Behind series, but we're fictionalizing events that have already been foretold by God himself. There’s only so much room for interpretation of the subject matter."
Cary didn't set out to write about the revelations of John. It was only after a year-long study of Revelation that he felt compelled to create The Last Gentile. Keep in mind that Cary had never before written a book or even a short story.
"The Last Gentile literally kept me up at night," Cary says now. "The characters and story ideas just kept coming to me until I had no choice but to outline them. From there it only made sense to start researching and writing these books."
Cary spent the next several years scrutinizing the end times prophecy laid out in the final book of the Bible. His scientific background enabled him to create eerily realistic events based on the Book of Revelation. In fact, aside from the characters of The Last Gentile, Deacon's Horn and Final Witness, everything you read in the Last Gentile trilogy is more non-fiction than fiction – and deeply rooted in scientific fact.
Now, five years after he started, Cary R. Bybee has seen his project through to completion. The Last Gentile, Deacon's Horn and The Final Witness are being released simultaneously in early April. Early reviews are in, and the news is good: Readers are captivated by the Last Gentile trilogy. Cary and his family couldn't be happier.
"The kids and I have supported Cary since Day 1 on this project," says Peggy K. Bybee, Cary's wife of 23 years. "It is so very rewarding to see the end result. We're so proud of him, and we're excited for others to finally be able to read these books as well."
Although Cary currently has nine other books in development – none related to the Last Gentile trilogy – his main enjoyment is writing music and playing guitar in his church's worship band and a youth Christian rock band. The former U.S. Air Force nuclear weapons officer is involved in his kids' many school activities and also enjoys motocross racing, fishing, camping and football; he has even taught karate along with fellow black-belt Peggy. And all this is in addition to his job as a scientist and engineer working internationally throughout Europe and Asia!
But at the heart of it all is a man who simply had a story to tell. And so we welcome you to LastGentileBooks.com. Thank you for stopping by, and God bless!

Reviews - What do customers think about Deacon's Horn (The Last Gentile Trilogy, Book 2)?
Awesome trilogy May 14, 2005
Cary Bybee's "The Last Gentile Trilogy" is a must-read for anyone remotely interested in end times, Revelations-based fiction. The story is well-written and the characters are so real, identifiable, and believable. I found myself not being able to put the books down because of so much going on. The story line has something for everyone...action, suspense, drama, romance, and even comedy. The scientific approach to much of the subject matter is very refreshing as well. The way Mr. Bybee interprets end time phenomena through science is very impressive and well thought out. I've also read the entire "Left Behind" series and, in my opinion, Mr. Bybee's trilogy is much better. It moves along at a quicker pace and is not drawn out over 12 different books. Do yourself a big favor and pick up this trilogy: you will not be disappointed.
Book 2 Better than Book 1 Nov 10, 2003
The action takes off in Book 2 as the Tribulaton begins. New characters enter the story and Bybee does a good job getting the reader quickly attached to these people as their lives become more difficult by the day. Literally, Bybee has story lines going all around the world at the same time.
I especially like Bybee's ideas of how the judgments of the Book of Revelation could come about. Who knows and if my belief in a pre-tribulation rapture is correct, I and other Christians today will watch these events from the "balcony".
I look forward to reading Book 3. Thanks.
Wow, The Characters and Storyline Really Come to Life! Jun 2, 2003
I thought the LAST GENTILE was a hard act to follow, but this book is even better! Masterful development of the character set and storyline make you feel like you're actually engaged in the battle against evil. I highly recommend this book and after the first books cliffhanger ending I was glad I could get my hands on the second and third books instead of having to wait.
