Item description for New Canaan by Carroll Ray, Jr....
Dr. Jim McDowell is pastor of New Canaan Baptist Church in Madison, Arkansas. He is on the verge of burnout, and the dryness of his soul threatens to put him over the edge. Something has to happen. The church's building plans have been stymied by the discovery of an easement owned by the city. The county judge could solve the problem with his vote in the city commission meeting, but refuses because of an old grudge. With no solution in sight, Jim discovers some information he could use to bring pressure on the judge. To use the information would be a clear breach of ethics. But Jim is desperate. If things don't turn around soon, even his marriage could be in danger. And then a series of events in his life cause him to realize the reality of God in a new and fresh way. 'New Canaan is a thrilling adventure into the mind and heart of mankind. Carroll Ray's Christian 'world view: and his grasp of human nature, coupled with his God-given ability for putting beautiful words together in exciting and interesting ways, guarantees this to be a well worth reading investment.' - Earnest Brownlee, assistant pastor, Dallas, Texas 'When you read New Canaan, you will not only be entertained but it could make a profound change in your life.' - Pat Etherly, author
