I've have been listening to carman since the mid 80's and this would have to be one of his best but, he i'm sure still has a few more left in him (by the grace of God!)
"STANDARD" BY CARMAN Jul 9, 2002
Carman is an amazing songwriter, musician and has a magical voice. This particular album is good but has a lot of repeat songs that I have on other albums by him, such as "Heart of a Champion", "The Absolute Best" and "Passion for Praise" The seller I bought from was excellent in delivery, packaging and quality of CD

I wanted to write a reply to this comment. This album is great. Carman should speak out about sin. Being a gay is sin it is not what God has for us. I am sure Carman doesn't mean to put down gays, but we are supposed to hate sin and not the sinner. (Being Gay is just an example I am using although we all know there are many other sins) The song America Again should disturb us we were founded on the Gospel but you won't learn that in any school. In schools we are led to believe that the founders of the country were not Christians. All but 2 people (Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin) that signed the Declaration of Independence were Christians and like half of them were ordained ministers (preachers). It is a shame that this country has turned from God, look were it has led us. But God reminds us, If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then will I hear their prayers and heal there land. Isn't that what America needs? To be healed? That only comes through the Jesus that Carman sings about. America Again does speak of stopping abortion. AMEN TO THAT it is murder. Is it a wonder that the world is in the condition it is in? There is no value for human life. And prayer in schools. Listen to the song Our Turn Now and you will hear the statistics of Prayer in schools and when prayer was removed. By the way the Seperation of Church and State thing.... well read the first usage of that phrase. It by no means that God/religion has no place in the goverment. Another thing, no religion in schools? Evolution is a religion. There is NOTHING to prove it as true yet evolution is taught and not creation. Why can that be used in schools? Check out the video Creation Evalution and Dinosaurs. This album is Great and I applaud Carman for his boldness.
It Depends On Your World View Apr 16, 2001
If you're here reading this review, you're probably one of the many who either love CArman or hate him. He's been inChristian music over two decades and has inspired (and yes, disgusted) an equal number of people. It all depends on your world view. Carman has a genuine heart, and a passion for what he does. He's ultra-conservative and places a lot of emphasis on spiritual warfare. His political views aside, he's not a bad guy. He loves people and he loves God. I think he just takes things a little too far at times. This album is not all bad, though. Whatever type of music you like, you're sure to find it on this disc. Carman appeals to lovers of hip-hop, dance, rap, and (shock!) country all on the same CD. While this has garnered him more than his fair share of cristicism in the past, I think his chameleon-loke musical gymnastic ability is one of his greatest strengths. The song "America Again" bothers me, though. In it, Carman calls for a renewal of faith in this country, calling us to bring back parayer in school, eliminate abortion, etc. all the while totally stomping the face of freedom in the name of his worldview. This, I believe, is Carman's downfall. It really shows little compassion at all. Instead, it yells at and condemns any who have ever failed at being the perfect Christian. What if you're gay? Lesbian? Been divorced? Made mistakes in relationships? As far as CArman is concerned, you must be going to hell and you surely can't be a Christian. God hates those things, of course! If Carman would use his immense resources more responsibly-- to share the love of the God he beleives he speaks for-- then I think he could really hcange the world. Right now, he just makes me angry.
Carman saying it how it is Oct 28, 2000
America Again is a great song. If there was ever a song that speaks the truth, this is it. Although I am not a big Carman fan, I do like some of his stuff, and his message is clear. It's all about our Saviour.
