Item description for Keep "Company" With God by Carla A. Nelson...
Overview Many business books in Christian and mainstream bookstores talk about godly ethics, principles, operations, and transactions, but I have not found one for those who have a vision to start a business with God or to keep (a) company with Him. Therefore, I was burdened to write one. This book is a compilation of business ideas, biblical principles, and spiritual values. You will learn God's way of developing a plan to start a business. You will also gain knowledge of how to put His will first in all you do in the marketplace. This book is meant to be a resource and a guide for those who want to start and keep a "company" with God. God has already given you the prosperous, successful life you've been seeking. It is up to you to make it a reality! Keep "Company" With God is an awesome representation of how God is a very real and present force in all aspects of our spiritual and corporate lives.... This book is a true testament of how entrepreneurial and corporate success can be attained when we "write the vision" and Keep "Company" With God. Thanks for sharing your vision of the spiritual realm of starting, managing and growing a successful business. Your perspective makes it very plain that we have an obligation to be successful as God has given us dominion over the earth. -Shelly M. Reviews - What do customers think about Keep "Company" With God?
Relevant over time Jul 18, 2007
I purchased and read this book a couple of years ago based on a referral from a entrepreneur associate not knowing that its impact would have such a lasting effect. At the time, I launched a small consignment business and wanted it to be clear to my customers and vendors that this business was "keeping company with God". I can't tell you how delighted I was to eagerly read this book and learn how to apply God's principles with business best practices in my business at that time, but to continue to practice these principles of Christian entrepreneurship in my professional life continuously since then. Indeed, this book has demonstrated for me, its relevancy over time. This should be recommended reading for our young people and adults who aspire to align God's perfect plan with your Divinely inspired business vision. Enjoy!
Keep Company With God Dec 2, 2003
Recently I finished a book entitled "Keep "Company" with God -- 7 Spiritual Principles for Starting a Successful Business in the Kingdom of God", (authored by a close friend), and wanted to share it with you. Whether starting a business (for profit or non-profit) or if you are already an entrepreneur, I found the book to be informative, inspiring and uplifting, as it serves as a reminder (and affirmation) of principles that we all sometimes overlook in our quest for business success.
Through her extensive research, and drawing from her personal experience, Elder Nelson articulates the spiritual principles of business in a manner that we can "feel" and relate to in our everyday business lives. This is not "just a plug" for a friend -- but, a recommendation for good, resourceful, substantive and spiritual reading.
An Inspiring Business Guide For the New or Seasoned Entrepre Nov 14, 2003
I was so excited at the release of this book, and was not disappointed after reading the last chapter. This book is a practical approach to starting a new business. The book also provides those with existing businesses an opportunity to review and enhance their business practices.
The chapters are comprised of seven spiritual principals that are sensible and can be readily applied. I quickly realized that I had to have a notepad and pen on hand when reading this book. As I read each chapter new visions and/or affirmations of existing ideas came flooding through.
The Author, Elder Nelson, creatively weaves scripture references and quotes from notable teachers of the Gospel as part of making the connection between the spiritual and conceptual view of doing business. In addition, she encourages the reader to explore their "business readiness" by responding to questions at the end of each chapter. Elder Nelson provides a multitude of business resources and references-making it very easy for the reader to ACT...begin the process of starting their own business.
I would like to take this time to applaud Elder Carla Nelson for responding to the "call" on her life to do business God's way, and to then invite us to Keep Company with God.
An Inspiring Guide for the New or Seasoned Entrepreneur Nov 14, 2003
Words cannot describe my excitement when this book was released. I read each chapter with much anticipation, and was not disappointed. I quickly realized that I needed to walk with a note pad and pen as I read the book in order to take notes. With each chapter I found myself documenting new visions for my business or affirming old visions.
This book is for those who are ready to begin or re-energize their plans to activate and/or move their business to the next level. The seven principals which make-up the chapters, is artistically crafted by the author and are practical and can be readily applied.
After reading the book, I am so committed to not leave this earth without depositing my gifts. I am determined to birth and nurture the witty ideas and creative inventions that God has blessed me with.
I congratulate the author, Elder Carla Nelson, for responding to "the call" on her life to Keep Company with God, and then to graciously invite us to participate.
