Overview A half-frozen to death, beautiful young woman named Elizabeth shows up on the doorstep of Noah Wesley's remote Alaskan home, but even as she falls in love with him, she will not disclose why she was willing to risk her life to discover gold.
Publishers Description When Noah Wesley heard the faint sound outside the door of his remote Alaskan mountain cabin during a violent nighttime blizzard, it was no less than the voice of God that urged him to take a closer look, soon to discover his snow angel. Unconscious and more than half frozen to death, her name, as Noah would later learn after boldly saving her life, was Elizabeth, a beautiful young woman, fragile yet fierce, and intent on discovering gold like so many others in that region during the late 1800s. But why Elizabeth was so drawn to the gold, and why she would chase it even through a pounding storm that no man would dare face, was a secret to be shared with no one else, not even at the inviation of Noah's deep blue trusting eyes. First time novelist Jamie Carie pens a can't-put-down debut in "Snow Angel, " a masterfully romantic story wherein cold and lonely hearts risk everything to be forever warmed. Endorsements "Carie is a welcome new voice in the inspirational fiction market."--Romantic Times "A truly engaging story . . . fascinating." --DancingWord.net "The romantic tension is both powerful and convincing."--TCM Reviews

Watch out for Jamie Carie Feb 12, 2010
I actually read Ms Carie's Wind Dancer first but after reading it had to read anything else written by. Ms Carie's Snow Angel may be her first book written but it was written with insensity of challenges for her characters especially being it is based in Alaska during the gold rush. While it may be intense there is love and inspiration shown with Christian faith and values. Her characters and her story makes you feel like you are part of the story yourself With her debut book she has hit the literary world running and has won the attention of so many readers to her first book Snow Angel.

Elizabeth's birth mother was forced to give her up to an orphanage when Elizabeth was two. For almost 20 years her mother has been searching for her.
Elizabeth has gold fever. She is on her way to the Yukon to find her fortune. She is also running from a man who has already harmed her. In search of a man she was told would be a good guide Elizabeth gets lost in a snowstorm. She stumbles onto Noah's doorstep and by some miracle he is able to breathe life back into her.
Being chased by her past Elizabeth is forced to run away from the man that she loves. Noah is not about to let her go so easily so he follows her to the Yukon. The only problem is that he is not the only man following Elizabeth.
With much heart-stopping adventures and dangers Jamie Carie has woven a very captivating novel. I enjoyed this novel very much and find that it is very appropriate for Young Adults as well as Adult readers.
Snow Angel......A great read. Nov 10, 2009
A young womans struggle during the late 1800's. Alaskan adventure, intrique, mystery, and romance. A great story.
Beautiful beginning that lost its way Oct 31, 2009
I wish I could give half stars. I would like to give this 3 1/2. I loved the beginning of this book. The writing was good, the descriptions were lush and the storyline grabbed me. I thought there was fantastic chemistry between the two main characters... and they both were drawn so beautifully in my mind. The author did a wonderful job of setting the scene. I could picture them and their environment.
The secondary characters were not as well developed. The two main characters also did a bit of a personality quirk in the middle of the book-acting in ways that seemed somewhat contrary to normal. That made it seem slightly rushed as if the author needed them to do/accept certain things and move on to the next part of the story.
It took the novel from a touching, sad story to one that was hard make the all the leaps with. The ending was satisfying and has good symmetry - very poetic. I enjoyed it.
