Item description for Across All Worlds: Jesus Inside Our Darkness by C. Baxter Kruger & Alan Torrance...
Overview "Jesus has made us part of his life and relationship with his Father and the Spirit. Such a vision brings hope to us and gives us real reason to live. But to see ourselves included in Jesus' relationship with his Father also exposes the life we are living as a quagmire of fear and hiding. Across All Worlds is about Jesus coming, in his passion for his Father to be known, to establish a personal relationship with us in our darkness. Herein lies the crisis of our lives. Jesus will never abandon us to our mythology and the gods and goddesses of our fallen imaginations. But his presence means that we are haunted to the core of our souls. His presence with us in our darkness means we know we are made for glory and that we are a long way from living in its freedom and joy. This books is where the stunning vision of the Trinitarian gospel meets the darkness and pain of our human experience. There are no simple answers. Jesus will not abandon us. But his presence means our theories are exposed as empty and sad and dead. It is about relationship, about Jesus' freedom to walk with us in our profound confusion and the mess we make of our lives so that he can bring us to know his Father with him and live our lives in the freedom of the Spirit's witness to our adoption." -C. Baxter Kruger

Reviews - What do customers think about Across All Worlds: Jesus Inside Our Darkness?
Across All Worlds Nov 23, 2008
I've read 3 of Kruger's Books. They all say the same thing and I just ordered his 4th and final book. I can't get enough. His message is always one thing -- The Trinity is a Family and God became man so that man might become God. God is Love. I love it! So simple.
I think this book made me a better Father because it made me understand our Heavenly Father better. It's all about the "relationships" and "love". It shows that Jesus reached out across the divide we experience in the separation caused to us in Adam and brings us home to communion with God again. Just like in the Garden of Eden.
The 6000 years of "hard time" are over and our Spiritual Sabbath is waiting for us if we'll only let God shine his love light in our darkness. It shows that sin is simply the separation from God brought by Adam. But obedience to the Holy Spirit is the opposite of sin and is basically what "worship" is.
I think these books might be the final nail in Organized Religion started by Jesus, Paul, and Luther. Reading Kruger's books makes me realize that "The Gospel" really is Good news. Instead of what you normally hear today -- "Say the magic phrase or you'll burn in hell for all eternity."
Awesome books awesome perspective!

Dr C Baxter Kruger is indeed one of the best contemporary theologians of this century. He passionately advocates for a God who is not content to kick us in the pants and sit back to enjoy the show, but as one who has crossed all worlds to journey with us in the here and now. There is no seperation (from God's perspective) between God and us - just fellowship if we dare to dance.
