incredible insights on Biblical leadership and gender Jul 12, 2005
If you want to know what the Bible REALLY says about leadership and gender, then you will want to read this book. Jesus taught against tradition that negated the actual words of God and the author of this book follows in His footsteps. Bruce shows you how poor translations and understandings of certain key verses have impoverished Christianity. But the good news is correct translations and understandings will help everyone to be all they can be in Christ. This is cutting edge insight, freedom awaits those who seek it by reading this book.

If God's Word is True and good, how can there be confusion and harm caused by some interpretations of the Bible?
It is possible to be mistaken. The teaching of mistaken doctrines can be harmful to the church and to families and to individual believers.
The passages over which there is great conflict may not be correctly understood. When there seems to be no resolution to disputes it is time to Think Again about the Bible.
Perhaps more than any other subject, that of Women and Men (1) as individuals, (2) in the church, and (3) in the home are "problem passages" that need a careful new look.
Fresh research into these passages has produced wonderful results! First was correcting misinterpretations of Genesis 2-3. Next was building on this foundation in key passages by Paul and Peter (1 Corinthians 11, 14; Ephesians 5-6; 1 Timothy 2-3; 1 Peter 3:1-7).
Heretical teaching hurts the teachers and the learners. The new research on the great passages has revealed previous views as faulty. Some views even teach the opposite of these key passages. Most of these passages have to do with leadership in one form or another. The study of these passages and their misinterpretation has revealed God's truth and uncovered a number of familiar heresies!
1. Genesis 2 teaches that in marriage, woman is not man's "helper." They are equal partners. 2. Genesis 3 relates that in sin, she was not the Temptress. Man was a first degree sinner while she was a second degree sinner. God cursed the soil because of the man's sin. 3. In Genesis 3:16, God did not curse the woman or change her body in any way. He encouraged her and warned her about life with the worst sinner in the world. 4. In 1 Timothy, Paul tells of his sin and restitution to ministry by God. He teaches that men and women overseers who went astray, but not rebelliously, could be rehabilitated too. 5. 1n 1 Corinthians 11 and 14, Paul refutes proposals from legalists to minimize and restrict Christian women. 6. In Ephesians 5:21-6:9, Paul's long illustration is on how Christians should get along with each other. But those who see it as a long passage on marriage have gone astray. 7. In 1 Peter 3:1-7, Peter uses many of Paul's words in his own way to make his own point. Both women with unsaved husbands, and husbands with unsaved wives are told how to live graciously so as to win their spouse to the Lord.
