Item description for The Emotional Struggle by Brandon Ryan...
This book is my honest attempt at confession-a huge confession, requiring everything that had been lodged in the chambers of my soul to aid in expression. Drawing them out, I have broken the locks that kept my deepest thoughts stored away. This book means so much to me, but I know my stories. I feel them, just as you must living with yours. Yet this is just as much for you as it is for me. I typed this entire book with my left hand, solely the first finger of my left hand; it was for you. The Emotional Struggle has been a dream of mine, and it has been nearly three years in the making. It started with a year of writing everyday trying to perfect what was going to be a chance to inspire people; to understand that no matter how bad life can be at times, there is always a way out. And life can get better. But in order to get better, in order to leave the past behind, you have to fight. You have to hold your head high and know that there is a purpose for breathing at this very moment. There is always an open invitation of grace waiting for you in the pierced hands of a man who gave himself up for all humanity.

Reviews - What do customers think about The Emotional Struggle?
General Review May 16, 2008
There are so many adjectives I could use to describe this book, The Emotional Struggle, by Brandon Ryan. Genuine; heartfelt; honest; open; informative; impelling. It is also very unique in many senses. It is one of the most honest and caring books I have ever read, and by the end of it, I felt like I had made a new friend - solely based on the book. Also, I learned a lot about Cerebral Palsy, and it opened my eyes to almost a whole other "world" of what it's like for many who struggle with similar conditions daily. And his experiences that he shares with his church and with his faith in Yeshua remind me of the man in the Bible named David. David is considered the man after God's own heart, yet at the same time he struggled with so much - loneliness, guilt, shame, and more. In the same way, Brandon shares his experiences and thoughts with struggles with his emotions and how he has dealt with them and continuing to deal with, while His love for Jesus, or Yeshua, remains. A couple of side things that I definitely appreciated were the very short chapters along with all of the quotes he added that paralleled with his chapters. There are, however, grammatical errors, but they do not distract from the heart of the book.
Where there's a will, there's a way! -By Dorothy Pitsch Mar 18, 2008
Brandon: Where there's a will, there's a way! Okay, here is my Book Review for: The Emotional Struggle
"The Emotional Struggle is a good read. Brandon Ryan walks you through a journey that you will readily identify with. We all have the same needs for compassion and understanding. Brandon has a way of making the reader feel as if he/she is right there with him; sharing a one-on-one heartfelt talk. He doesn't let his disability get in the way of helping those in need. Brandon is a very thought-filled positive person who tells it like it is! He will encourage his readers to go out and make the world a better place." (By Dorothy Pitsch - A Michigan Author)
The Emotion Struggle Jan 2, 2008
In the Emotional Struggle, Brandon Ryan describes the life of a young man whose life has been shaped and affected by disability, without being defined by it. Ryan could have easily filled these pages recounting the unique struggles he's faced as result of having Cerebral Palsy, but instead chooses to write of the common struggles we share as humans, loneliness, rejection, and a search for purpose. These themes, and the writer's message of hope and redemption make it a thoughougly uplifting and insightful book. I especially recommend it for young adults, uncertain of their place in this world.
The Emotional Struggle: A masterful, heart warming book Dec 10, 2007
The Emotional Struggle is a book that has touched my heart. The Author, Brandon Ryan, has taught me so much, but what's more is that he has given me hope. Just by reading his book I noticed that he has more compassion than I've ever seen in anyone. His book proves true to the statement "You can't really know someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes." I know that I can't even Imagine what it's like to have Cerebral Palsy, but that book was so easy to understand that it was almost as if I was in his place. There's no doubt in my mind that he will accomplish everything that he wants to accomplish. He really encourages me every day. He's one of the most honest-hearted individuals I know. He has feelings like everyone else and he deserves to be treated as respectfully as you would treat a person who doesn't have cerebral palsy, or any other disability. There are a lot of lessons that people need to learn as they grow. I know Brandon isn't perfect by any means, but I think that just by writing that book, he taught so many lessons for each individual that reads it. I also know that every person is different, no two people are alike, so each lesson learned will be different for each person. Everything he writes is pure poetry to me. We need more people like him in this world who take the time to give of themselves freely, not just because they get paid to do it or because they want to impress someone. If you just help someone because you want to impress someone else, then your motives aren't real and pure and right. You have to be moved and motivated to help people. I wish I could write with as much passion and feeling as he does. it's hard to write like that, I know because I've tried. In any case, Brandon is one of the best authors I know. He's also my favorite. If you read his book, I hope it will help you to realize your sense of self-worth, your true potential and your true calling.
