Item description for Through A Great Door: Missionary Stories From The Heart Of Bob Shelton by Bob Shelton...
Overview IT WAS THE 1950s. A GREAT DOOR WAS OPEN IN ASIA. A MAN STEPPED THROUGH IT AND FOUND THAT SOMETIMES HE WAS LONELY, "Dear Lord, Bill is gone, so I don't have an interpreter. I can't speak the language of these people and they can't speak English. I really don't have anyone to talk to but You." AND HE HAD TO MAKE SACRIFICES, "I believe this is the will of God. We should postpone our wedding." AND FACE CHALLENGES. "Look ahead-there is our first island. The people there have never heard the name of Jesus." WHEN YOU HAVE NO ONE BUT GOD-HE IS ENOUGH. Bob Shelton was born on the brink of the Great Depression to parents who were strong Christians. He came to know the Lord at the age of five. Reared in a church that was zealous for missions work, Bob developed a desire to be active in the Lord's work at a young age. When, as a young man, he answered God's call to minister in Asia, he found it involved much sacrifice. But he also discovered early on that the Lord's blessing made it all worthwhile. 'Through a Great Door' recounts his remarkable years from 1951-62 on the mission field in Asia.
