Overview
Ever wonder what it would be like to live "a perfect life"? People have been pondering that question for years. Christians have gone so far as to say "there is no perfection on earth." But what if that was not quite the truth? What if you could live the perfect life? What would it take? John Wesley's best-known writing on the subject of Holiness, A Plain Account Of Christian Perfection is now re-written for a new generation of Christians.

Publishers Description
Ever wonder what it would be like to live "a perfect life"? People have been pondering that question for years. Christians have gone so far as to say "there is no perfection on earth." But what if that was not quite the truth? What if you could live the perfect life? What would it take?

Bo Cassell's modern-day paraphrase of John Wesley's classic A Plain Account of Christian Perfection, you will understand exactly what Christian perfection really is and what it is not. Briefly, the term "Christian perfection," as Wesley understood it, might better translate as "complete holiness." Once a person is saved, that's not the end. Christianity is the process of growing up, maturing in the love of our God and our neighbor. It is holiness of heart and life. It means, as Philippians 2:5 puts it, "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus." The perfect life then becomes more of living a life committed to perfect love, which defines what our relationship to God and others should be.

More About John Wesley & Bo Cassell

John Wesley John Wesley (1703-1791) was an eighteenth century Anglican clergyman and Christian theologian who was the founder of the Methodist movement. Methodism had three rises, the first at Oxford University with the founding of the so-called "HolyClub," the second while Wesley was parish priest in Savannah, Georgia, and the third in London after Wesley's return to England. The movement took form from its third rise in the early 1740s when Wesley, along with others, began itinerant field preaching and the subsequently founded religious societies for the formation of believers. This was the first widely successful evangelical movement in Britain.Wesley's Methodist Connexion included societies throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland before spreading to other parts of the English-speaking world and beyond. He divided his religious societies further into classes and bands for intensive accountability and religious instruction.

John Wesley was born in 1703 and died in 1791.
