Item description for The 1979 Book of Common Prayer and The New Revised Standard Version Bible with the Apocrypha by Blk/bur...
This handy volume features the essential liturgical texts for members of the Episcopal Church, the branch of the worldwide Anglican Communion in the United States of America. As such, it is an excellent resource for the work of priests and deacons. Indeed, the "combo's" size makes it a great take-along book for anyone who would benefit from the pairing of these texts in a convenient format. Every binding includes three ribbon markers and a Presentation Page section containing certificates for the Baptism, Confirmation, and Marriage Rites.

Reviews - What do customers think about The 1979 Book of Common Prayer and The New Revised Standard Version Bible with the Apocrypha?
A helpful time saver Jun 24, 2008
Although i really love this volume for ease of use, the type is very small and my eyesight is not as good as it once was. Hoping for a larger type format of the same volume to come available. The other rub is the RCL now used in the Episcopal Church is not used in this edition.
My daily companion Apr 13, 2008
This book is small, which is what I love about it. It is so nice to have the Book of Common Prayer and Bible all together. I can pray the Daily Offices and read the Lectionary without going back and forth between two books. I can easily take it with me anywhere I go. The type is small, especially in the Bible section, but it is large enough to read if you have normal eyesight. If you like a small, convenient, easy to carry Prayer Book and Bible, this is a great choice. It is very attractive, and a great value here. (I found it for sale elsewhere for $75.) If you want a larger book or need large type, this book wouldn't be right for you.
fabulous combo: BCP, Aprocrypha, and NRSV Apr 8, 2008
I couldn't be more pleased with this combo. The text of the BCP is set in a larger size font than the Bible. But still, the Bible is perfectly legible. The paper is thin to make the book a reasonable size, but it is fine quality, with no show through. The size makes the book totable, which I really prize. I have begun reading the Daily Office which is specified for each day in the BCP Lectionary. Wonderful to have NRSV and BCP and Apocrypha all in one volume. Easy to pack for travel and tote about. And I never tire of the rich language of the BCP, in which I find deep meaning. Not bad looking either with a burgandy and black pliable cover that has the look of leather, but is probably an imitation material. No matter because I got more than my money's worth.
Small print in Book of Common Prayer/Bible Mar 28, 2008
While this is a beautiful volume I wish I had had the option of looking at the print size because it is quite small. Due to my need for reading glasses I would probably have shopped for one with larger print for better ease of use.
Portable Prayer Mar 26, 2007
This is a small-format edition of the Prayer Book and NRSV Bible in a single volume. Measuring 6.5" x 5" x 1.75", and comprising more than 2500 pages, it contains all the essential material for conducting or participating in Episcopal services. Despite its compact size it is easily legible (well, with my glasses on) and appears to be quite sturdy. My one complaint is that there are only three ribbons supplied; twice that would be barely sufficient for marking the necessary places for a typical Morning Prayer service. Those who regularly pray the Daily Office would find this volume particularly useful while travelng.
