Overview After a bombing at the Newpointe Post Office, a gunman holds Jill Clark hostage in her hotel room, but after he is apprehended and claims to be innocent, Jill begins to wonder if he is as guilty as he appears
What will it cost to keep a promise? Of the four people at the Newpointe post office when the bomb went off, three were killed instantly. The fourth, a five-year-old boy, lies comatose in the hospital and might not survive. Who would do such a thing? The answer comes in the form of a gunman crashing through the door of the hotel room where Jill Clark is staying. With a rifle barrel pointed at her temple, the young attorney suddenly finds herself the hostage of a desperate man whose actions hardly fit his claim that he s innocent of the bombing. Only later, when the suspect is behind bars, does Jill wonder whether he s as guilty as he appears. Prompted by a terrifying attempt on her life, Jill and old flame Dan Nichols dig deeper into the case. But standing in their way lies an obstacle Jill hasn t counted on: the power of a covenant. It could change her life. Or, with the clock ticking, it could seal her death. Word of Honor is book three in the Newpointe 911 series by award-winning novelist Terri Blackstock. Newpointe 911 offers taut, superbly crafted novels of faith, fear, and close-knit small-town relationships, seasoned with romance and tempered by insights into the nature of relationships, redemption, and the human heart. Look also for Private Justice, Line of Duty, Shadow of Doubt, and Trial by Fire."

More About Terri Blackstock
Terri Blackstock is a New York Times best-seller, with over six million copies sold worldwide. She is the winner of two Carol Awards, a Christian Retailers Choice Award, and a Romantic Times Book Reviews Career Achievement Award, among others. She has had over twenty-five years of success as a novelist. Terri spent the first twelve years of her life traveling in an Air Force family. She lived in nine states and attended the first four years of school in The Netherlands. Because she was a perpetual “new kid,” her imagination became her closest friend. That, she believes, was the biggest factor in her becoming a novelist. She sold her first novel at the age of twenty-five, and has had a successful career ever since.
Recent books include her acclaimed Intervention Series (Intervention, Vicious Cycle, and Downfall). Other recent favorites include Shadow in Serenity, Predator and Double Minds, and the Restoration Series, the Newpointe 911 Series, the Cape Refuge Series, and the SunCoast Chronicles series.
In 1994 Terri was writing romance novels under two pseudonyms for publishers such as HarperCollins, Harlequin, Dell and Silhouette, when a spiritual awakening prompted her to switch gears. At the time, she was reading more suspense than romance, and felt drawn to write thrillers about ordinary people in grave danger. Her newly awakened faith wove its way into the tapestry of her suspense novels, offering hope instead of despair. Her goal is to entertain with page-turning plots, while challenging her readers to think and grow. She hopes to remind them that they’re not alone, and that their trials have a purpose.
Terri has appeared on national television programs such as “The 700 Club” and “Home Life,” and has been a guest on numerous radio programs across the country. The story of her personal journey appears in books such as Touched By the Savior by Mike Yorkey, True Stories of Answered Prayer by Mike Nappa, Faces of Faith by John Hanna, and I Saw Him In Your Eyes by Ace Collins.
Terri Blackstock currently resides in the state of Mississippi. Terri Blackstock was born in 1957.

Reviews - What do customers think about Word Of Honor (Newpointe 911 V3)?
Great series! Jan 30, 2006
This is a great series and the characters and definitely the type that you won't forget!
A soap opera, not a mystery Jun 28, 2005
Word of Honor was so poorly written that I found it hard to finish the book. Instead of telling the story through one character, the author jumped from one character to another not allowing the reader to identify with any of the characters. Reading Word of Honor was more like watching TV instead of reading a book. The conversations between the characters were corny. I felt like I was watching a poorly written TV soap opera. The Christian message was dominant and preachy instead of being informative. The Christian message seemed forced instead of a natural part of the story line. If I wanted a book that preaches along with a good story line, there are many good books out there that are much better written, ie the BIBLE!
Proof that Terri Blackstock knows her stuff! Jan 30, 2004
I would have to say that Terri Blackstock has shown her abilities as a writer once again in this book. She has demonstrated an absolutely excellent writing ability when it comes to this whole series! I greatly enjoyed "Word of Honor," and some of the themes of a covenant that were so prevalent in this book that I think are oftentimes overlooked so easily in our society. Mind you, I think there are a couple of points in which priorities lose their place in this book, but I also believe that they are restored before the end. I enjoy the murder mystery that is held in the story of one man's faithfulness to God, his family, and his friend. I also really enjoy the story behind Jill and Dan and all the struggles of their relationship while they're still so on and off. Most of all, I love the Christ-centered theme of all of Terri Blackstock's books. This is one sister in Christ who really knows how to write 'em!
As Always- GREAT! Jun 12, 2003
This book was probably my favorite out of Blackstock's Newpoint 911 Series - the suspensful story of lawyer Jill, and firefighter Dan fighting to protect their lives makes for a great read! I would recommend this to all- as well as the other books in this series! :)

Great Dec 29, 2002
Terri Blackstock continues to entertain us with well-written christian narratives. Word of Honor rivits the reader to each page as the heroine struggles with keeping her word to the man who held her hostage yet claims to be innocent. Blackstock weaves a tale so realistic of how circumstances can be different than they look. Great characterizations and true to life scenes make this a fabulous read.
