Overview Detective Millsaps faces a conflict when the constraints of the legal system interfere with his Christian faith and determination to protect a rape victim from her stalker
A violent criminal with a knack for evading justice. A beautiful victim with a secret to hide. Between them stands one good cop, torn between justice and the law. This rape case is an exception: The victim is more than willing to testify. And there s abundant evidence to put the suspect behind bars. Just one thing bothers Detective Larry Millsaps. Young and beautiful Melissa Nelson seems to know almost too much about the evidence needed to convict her attacker. The unfolding investigation unearths a brutal track record on the part of the suspect . . . and a stunning revelation of Melissa s own haunting past that could do far worse than destroy her credibility. Caught in a deadly conflict between the ironies of the law and the demands of his Christian convictions, Millsaps finds himself protecting Melissa from a psychopathic stalker s lethal game of cat-and-mouse . . . even as evidence collects that could send to prison not an inhuman criminal, but the woman Millsaps has come to love. Justifiable Means is the second book in the Sun Coast Chronicles by award-winning author Terri Blackstock. From absorbing legal drama to lightning-paced action, the Sun Coast Chronicles offers suspense at its finest, tempered with remarkable realism and penetrating insights into the human heart. Look for Evidence of Mercy, Presumption of Guilt, and Ulterior Motives at your favorite bookstore."

More About Terri Blackstock
Terri Blackstock is a New York Times best-seller, with over six million copies sold worldwide. She is the winner of two Carol Awards, a Christian Retailers Choice Award, and a Romantic Times Book Reviews Career Achievement Award, among others. She has had over twenty-five years of success as a novelist. Terri spent the first twelve years of her life traveling in an Air Force family. She lived in nine states and attended the first four years of school in The Netherlands. Because she was a perpetual “new kid,” her imagination became her closest friend. That, she believes, was the biggest factor in her becoming a novelist. She sold her first novel at the age of twenty-five, and has had a successful career ever since.
Recent books include her acclaimed Intervention Series (Intervention, Vicious Cycle, and Downfall). Other recent favorites include Shadow in Serenity, Predator and Double Minds, and the Restoration Series, the Newpointe 911 Series, the Cape Refuge Series, and the SunCoast Chronicles series.
In 1994 Terri was writing romance novels under two pseudonyms for publishers such as HarperCollins, Harlequin, Dell and Silhouette, when a spiritual awakening prompted her to switch gears. At the time, she was reading more suspense than romance, and felt drawn to write thrillers about ordinary people in grave danger. Her newly awakened faith wove its way into the tapestry of her suspense novels, offering hope instead of despair. Her goal is to entertain with page-turning plots, while challenging her readers to think and grow. She hopes to remind them that they’re not alone, and that their trials have a purpose.
Terri has appeared on national television programs such as “The 700 Club” and “Home Life,” and has been a guest on numerous radio programs across the country. The story of her personal journey appears in books such as Touched By the Savior by Mike Yorkey, True Stories of Answered Prayer by Mike Nappa, Faces of Faith by John Hanna, and I Saw Him In Your Eyes by Ace Collins.
Terri Blackstock currently resides in the state of Mississippi. Terri Blackstock was born in 1957.

Justifiable Means Review Mar 26, 2006
Terri Blackstock is a master story weaver. Her characters are believable and she keeps you glued to the pages until the very last one.
Worthy of TEN Stars! Jul 23, 2005
"Justifiable Means," the second book in Terri Blackstock's four-volume "Sun Coast Chronicles," is a superb page-turning thriller... perhaps her best novel I've read so far (although everything she writes is great). Given the opportunity, I would rate this book worthy of TEN stars! And, while this suspenseful work is as good as any of the top-ranked authors of this genre (and better than most), Ms. Blackstock's ability to skillfully weave into her stories her strong Christian faith, makes it all the more special. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! --Ron Howe (a.k.a. Toby Martin II) / Erskine, Minnesota.
Justifiable Means...awesome! Jul 20, 2005
I am a big fan of Terri Blackstock and she didn't let me down with this. As a continuation of Evidence of Mercy, she draws you in with her mysteries, love and what God is showing the characters through their trials. It left me eagerly waiting for the next edition.
Fast Paced and Exciting Jan 24, 2001
I could not put this book down. Very fast paced, suspenceful, and plenty of great Christian lessons that we can all learn. Liked the romance in the book and love having characters in this story from the previous book. It is fun to see the characters again, see how they are doing. I feel like I know the characters that Terri just brings to life.
A great read May 29, 2000
How does one cope with grief after the tragic loss of a loved one? In Melissa's case, REVENGE. Blackstock does a great job of showing that Christians are human and have to deal with the problems of life like anyone else. The difference is how a Christian, like Detective Larry Millsaps, deals with those problems. Not only is the story great, but also having a great Christian law enforcement officer as the protagonist was wonderful--not a lot of writers could carry that off the way that Blackstock can. The only thing lacking in this story is that it has not yet been made a movie of the week!
