Reviews - What do customers think about Successful Church Fund-Raising?
Capital Campaign Fund Raising Jun 25, 2006
Very useful book describing how to conduct the capital fund campaign for a church. Emphasizes the differences between church fund raising and non-profit fund raising.
Campaigns for large churches May 24, 2006
I bought this book in hopes that it would help me learn more about raising funds in any church's financial setting.
The book is very helpful in that it lays out every single thing you need for running your own capital campaign. It includes suggestions and examples of all the forms you'll need, the committees you should create, even possible sermons to be preached.
The one prerequisite is that it assumes that you are building a megachurch...or at least have the resources in your congregation to do so. In a small to medium-sized congregation, the book's suggestions for committees may not work as well as in larger congregations. The book assumes that you are a healthy (and potentially wealthy) group that is looking to grow into a bigger space. If this sounds like your congregation, by all means, buy the book. It is an interesting read, even if it turns out your congregation is not ready for a capital campaign...which the book will also help you determine.
