Item description for What God Wishes Christians Knew About Christianity It Might Surprise You by Bill Gillham...
Overview Harvest House Print On Demand Title The Christian life was never meant to be complicated, says renowned speaker Gillham. In this down-to-earth book, he gives you a clearer understanding of 14 points of confusion among believers today, including the roles of law and grace, the need for Christ-esteem over self-esteem, and whether success is related to "having enough faith."
Do you struggle with feeling as though the Christian life is more of a burden than a blessing? Sometimes our perspective of what the Bible says can leave us feeling shackled rather than free. That's when we have to ask ourselves:
Am I still trying to measure up to God's law, or am I resting in His grace?
Am I trying to overcome temptation and sin on my own, or am I letting Jesus do it "through" me?
Do I consider myself "literally" righteous in Christ, or am I just a forgiven sinner who is "waiting" to become righteous in heaven?
Get ready for many exciting insights that will bring you a new passion for the Christian life...and will turn your defeats into victories because you're living in God's power rather than your own

Reviews - What do customers think about What God Wishes Christians Knew About Christianity It Might Surprise You?
For the maturing christian Jan 11, 2009
This book is not for beginners but requires grounding in the Bible and a serious interest in following Gillham's analysis and insight into what transpired as a result of Jesus Christ's life, death and resurrection. Fascinating and very helpful in overcoming both lethargy and doubt which may have crept into one's spiritual life. Truly inpired and inspiring!
You'll be astounded--and blessed Dec 8, 2007
What God Wishes Christians Knew About Christianity is one of the most profound, thought-provoking books I have in my Christian library. Several of Gillham's concepts will make you rethink your Christian walk--for the better.
His assertion that the New Testament started not with the Gospels but with Acts took me by surprise, until I considered his logical, scripture-based argument. It makes perfect sense.
One of the best aspects of this book is his clear, understandable writing style. It's conversational yet never talks down to the reader. He's handling some very complex concepts here but his examples and illustrations make them easy to follow. Several pages into it, you'll realize you're on to something different, yet vitally important.
I'm 56 and have been a Christian all my life. I have a Christian web site and write articles for a couple others, but this book had such fresh insights into our faith that I was astounded by it. I think you will be too.
