Publishers Description Beautifully Repackaged: "The Betrayal" and "The Sacrifice " In "The Betrayal," Leah Ebersol and her beloved Jonas Mast are separated by hundreds of miles when he accepts an apprenticeship in Ohio. They are confident their love is strong enough to survive, but more than time and distance are conspiring to keep them apart. In "The Sacrifice," Leah Ebersol has no choice but to believe the worst: Her older sister, Sadie--and Leah's own beloved Jonas--have betrayed her. Now, two years later, Leah still misses them both, though loyal neighbor Gid continues to bide his time. But when tragedy befalls the Ebersols, Leah must make a difficult choice.
By Beverly Lewis
Abram Ebersol and wife, Ida, are raising their daughters on a firm foundation of Plain traditions, and they expect the girls to carry on that heritage, safe and secure in their cloistered Lancaster County community. But Sadie, the oldest daughter, has found little appeal in her Amish life compared to the lure of the "English" world surrounding them. When Sadie's traditional rumschpringe before embracing baptismal vows goes terribly awry, sister Leah's life also may be forever altered by their secret pact....
The twins, Hannah and Mary Ruth, have their own distinct and hidden yearnings, and fear clutches at each heart as the two begin to realize where those longings may lead.
Is the Ebersol family tapestry unraveling too quickly, too permanently, to be repaired?

The Betrayal is the second book in the Abram's daughtes series. I enjoyed it very much! After I read this book I realized just how hard the Amish people can really have it. They can't even read books that are not the bible. I loved how strong Leah is in this story. Even though she has had awful things happen in her family she still picks up the pieces and starts again.
