Item description for Under Cover: The Key to Living in God's Provision and Protection by John Bevere...
Overview According to the author, to walk in true spiritual authority, a believer must be submitted to God's sovereign authority. Bevere shows readers how the submission to this divine order grants the Kingdom's provision and protection.
This well loved writer effectively uses his personal mistakes to illustrate riveting truths about repentance and forgiveness. As he focuses on the true authority of God, he is careful to explain by example the important difference between "submission" and "obedience."
The same struggle with divine authority is also represented through the lives of John the Baptist, the Apostle Paul, and other biblical figures. An especially helpful book for Christians who want to develop a serious pursuit of God.

Reviews - What do customers think about Under Cover?
Good judgment needed Mar 9, 2007
Our Church has just finished doing a 12 week series on Under Cover. I was convicted. I disagreed on some areas. But over all, I believe I can more clearly how God views our submission to Authority.
No imperfect man does anything perfect. John Bevere is no exception. God uses many things in our life to grow us up. The Word of God. Church. Family. Friends. Christians who write books. Chrisians who sing and their music touches us and draws us closer to God.
I always make sure I size up what I read or hear with the Word. NO ONE gets it perfect all the time. John Bevere's books make me think. And make me look closer into what the Word actually says on a certain thing or issue.
Not everyone is going to think a particular book is the greatest. Some love certain books and say they've changed their lives. Others will give a nice cutting review on the false teachings in the same book!!!! A lot of our perspective comes from what we already believe. Where we go to Church. The influences in our lives. Of course, I like many others, rely on reviews to get an idea on whether we want to invest the money and buy a particular book.
This series we did on Under Cover has done one thing for me. Made me wonder what else I might have missed in the Bible that God has some very specific things to say about.
If a book helps me see a lot of important points, and has things I disagree with, I thank God for the things He's shown me through that book. It's OK that I disagree. It's only when someone is really way way off that I will not read the book. And will even throw it away.
I recommend this book.
Under Cover: The Promise of Protection Under His Authority Jan 5, 2007
What a Life Changing book! Upon reading this book I discovered that I didn't understand "submission to authority" completely. This book had an impact on my life in a positive way. I ordered the "Participants Guide" by John Bevere and saw that it included the video transcript by the author when he taught this series. In our church I have used this book in our ladies Bible study and in teaching upcoming leaders in our youth group. A comment made by a young lady when she read the book was that, "She really was convicted and decided to change!"
In society today we tend to do our "own thing in life". This book shows the necessity of submitting to authority in order to live a life that is free from guilt, shame, condemnation and strife. If you want to find freedom and protection in your life, I would encourage you to read and implement the principals shared in this profound book. I have decided to read this book every year and "check my cover". I have encouraged many others to do the same. Thank you for the opportunity to share my opinion. C.A.L.
ASOLUTLEY LIFE CHANGING! Nov 21, 2006
Two years a go I read this book. An amazing transformation occured in my life. As I sbumitted to spiritual and governmental authorities, and turned to prayer instead of many words to defend myself, every obstacle was removed from my path and I walked away and continue to live in a tremendous and miraculous blessing in my relationships, my work, my church and personal friendships. Thank you John Bevere for sharing your wisdom and God's word in these areas, to help empower me to walk in strength, peace and success. You are a true Man of God.
The Truth Can Stand to Be Tested Nov 13, 2006
This book was recommended to me after sharing with "My authority" some directional changes I felt that the Lord was leading me to do. I actually was expecting the pastor/apostle to "bless me" in seeking the Lord, but instead was met with hostility. This reaction puzzled me greatly, and I immediately spiraled into confusion. Anyone who understands spiritual warfare knows that confusion is the devil's playground and not a place that you should stay long if you happen to find yourself there. I was directed to read this book, and I read it with a big open heart, sincerely wanting to do the right thing. After reading the book, I was still left with questions--but now they had multiplied. I will not say as to whether or not this book is right or wrong. I will admit that I do not have the wisdom AT THIS present time to discern between the two. I will however state a wisdom key that I hold on to.
IF SOMETHING QUESTIONED IS TRUE, THEN IT WILL STAND TO BE QUESTIONED.
IF SOMETHING QUESTIONED IS NOT TRUE, THEN IT SHOULD BE QUESTIONED.
The alarming concern that I have from this book is not whether or not it is correct, but that there does not seem to be any ground on which the questions can be discussed. This book and the subject as presented in this book do not stand questioning well. Forms of Pride and Forms of Defense rise up. Offense hides around the corner. Reverse Rebellion sometimes tries to "jump" on anyone in question, leading them into condemnation. If this book holds the truth that we all need to be heeding to, then there are serious issues that need to be addressed. God's truth stands all tests--especially when it is tested in Love.
I believe there are themes of truth that can be extracted, such as learning to lay down will and submit, order and purpose in a kingdom, and being on guard for any forms of rebellion.
However there are many other questions that lead in the other direction. I will not go into these, for many are mentioned in the other reviews.
I WOULD NOT read this book with just your mind (soul). I would read this book ONLY with Holy Spirit. I would ask for a covering when reading this book, and I would ask Holy Spirit for protection from any teachings that disagree with Truth.
In conclusion, I went where I felt the Lord leading me and THAT SAME NIGHT, in the service EVERY question that I had concerning authority/covering was answered by Holy Spirit through the annointed message. Confusion was destroyed in that one meeting.
Misused Sep 29, 2006
I think the material written about submission and obedience is not okay.
This book was misused by several pastors around town, one of whom went so far as to say that people should have obeyed Adolf Hitler because God allowed Hitler to be in power and that was, according to the pastor, God's will per written word and circumstance. This was done while holding up and quoting Mr. Bevere's book.
Reading carefully through the book, it is easy to see how some people might come to such false, dangerous conclusions, though Mr. Bevere did include a disclaimer. Telling readers to submit to someone who says to do something wrong, and that the reader will be blessed and the weight will all fall on the person demanding submission is another serious misuse. Hopefully readers will get their understanding from reading and studying the Bible which tells us the letter of the law kills, the spirit of the law brings life.
At the point a leader or pastor says to do something against God's will, it's not okay. Sad that this book has been so misused.
