Roger S. Blumenthal, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.A.H.A., is a professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Blumenthal graduated with honors from The Johns Hopkins University. He received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, where he was awarded the Weiss Prize for Excellence in Clinical Medicine. He did his internal medicine and cardiology fellowship training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and then joined the medical school facility.Dr. Blumenthal was the principal developer of The Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease, and he is the Director of Preventive Cardiology at Johns Hopkins. He is an official national spokesperson for the American Heart Association (AHA) and has cowritten more than 400 original research articles, state-of-the-art reviews and editorials dealing with many aspects of coronary artery disease and atherosclerosis management.

Juli Hermanson, M.P.H., R.D., is a senior nutrition scientist at the General Mills Bell Institute of Health & Nutrition in Minneapolis. As a registered and licensed dietitian, she specializes in nutrition communications, translating nutrition science into practical advice for healthy eating. She attained a bachelor of science degree in dietetics at Iowa State University and holds a master's degree in public health nutrition from the University of Minnesota. She has developed educational materials for patients and professionals on heart health nutrition.

The recipes are easy to make and have ingredients that are easily found in the supermarket. So far my husband has liked everything I've made.
This book would go well with the book "Beach Lover's Guide to the Perfect Sandwich" also available on this
Don't let this book pass, easy to read recipes( most with pictures) and

delicious tasting too. My husband and I have both lost 6 pounds since

My grocery bill has gone down since I'm not eating as much red meat (once

a week)The real factor will be if my cholesterol will be down when I go

Low Fat, Low Cholesterol does taste good  Apr 6, 2008
I was recently forced into a low fat / low cholesterol diet and was not looking forward to it. Was told my diet was now called "If it tastes good, don't put it in your mouth diet". This cook book has changed that theory completely. It has recipes that taste good and are low in both fat & cholesterol. Have recommended this cookbook to several friends and family if they want to eat healthier.

You can tell the recipes in this book have been kitchen tested, because they are good. Everything I've tried has been great. The recipes are modified for a low cholesterol diet so they are different from your standard recipes, but good nonetheless.

Purchased this, Moosewood's, and the Heart Associations Low Fat/Low Cholesterol cookbooks and love them all. The directions are great. Recipes go from easy to follow. The ingredients are usually in your kitchen or available in your local grocery store; they're not exotic. The recipes taste fresh and interesting, because many fresh ingredients including herbs and vegetables are used. The ingredients help you to create beautiful meals that are very pleasing for family and impressive for company. Using these recipes helps you to eat healthy foods and really enjoy them.
