Item description for To Live Is Christ: Joining Paul's Journey of Faith by beth moore...
Overview Examines the life of Paul the Apostle using Biblical passages and studies of ancient Jewish life in Biblical times and finds lessons of faith, humility, and self-sacrifice which modern Christians can apply to their own lives.
In "To Live Is Christ," best-selling author Beth Moore travels on a spiritual odyssey through the life of one of Christianity's most fervent journeymen, the apostle Paul, tracing his story from childhood to martyrdom.
Proclaiming his faith as a benchmark in New Testament Scripture, Beth writes, "I have accepted many of Paul's words as a personal challenge. 'I want to know Christ' has become my plea. 'To live is Christ and to die is gain' has become my hope. And to borrow his words once more, 'Not that I have already obtained all this . . . but I press on.'"
Paul's undying passion for Christ continues to inspire and challenge those with a deep spiritual hunger for the things of God. Readers will be greatly refreshed by the obvious mercy of God that causes those who have failed him to repent and serve him wholeheartedly and effectively.

More About beth moore
Beth Moore was born on an Army base in Green Bay, Wisconsin, during what her father describes as the worst thunderstorm the city had seen in five years. He affectionately says the Lord brought her into the world with a drum roll. The fourth child of a retired Army major and a homemaker, Beth was raised in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Her father managed the local cinema where each of her four siblings had a role to play. Beth’s job was to hand out samples of popcorn and soda. Growing up in the theater had its perks. Sometimes Beth would be allowed to slip into a movie and take with her a pickle bag full of popcorn and a Dixie cup of Coke.
There in a theater chair, wide-eyed and full of Coke, Beth began a lifelong love for stories. She loved to tell them, write them, and hear them. But the story that captured her heart and consumed her life was not told in a movie theater. It was told in Sunday School-the story of Jesus-a Savior who loved children thought she was special. A seed was planted in her young heart that would grow to mark her life with a passionate love for Christ.
At 18 Beth sensed God’s call to work for Him. Although she couldn’t imagine what that would mean, she made it her goal to say yes to whatever He asked. Beth graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in political science. She later received an honorary in humanities from Howard Payne University. She married Keith in 1978, and now daughters Amanda and Melissa have joined the family. As a young wife and mother, Beth began speaking at luncheons and retreats, Mother’s Day Out, and teaching Christian aerobics.
Beth took a Bible doctrine class at her church taught by Buddy Walters, a former college football player who taught the Scriptures with tears streaming down his cheeks. She fervently prayed for such a passion for God’s Word. It was Buddy who first taught Beth, along with Keith, how to study the Bible.
Beth founded Living Proof Ministries in 1994 to teach women how to love and live on God’s Word. She has written numerous books and Bible studies, including Breaking Free, Believing God-Hardcover, and The Patriarchs: Encountering the God of Abraham, Issac & Jacob, Leader's Kit, read by women of all ages, races, and denominations. American missionaries and expatriates have taken Beth’s Bible study groups up all over the world. Living Proof Live conferences are in all 50 states; attended by more than 658,000 women. Ever the storyteller, Beth is known to pepper her teaching with stories and poems written from the perspective of pertinent characters. She communicates with great energy, passion, humor, warmth, and grace. Beth attends Houston’s First Baptist Church, where she hosts an interdenominational Tuesday-night Bible study for women in her city.

Birthday present Sep 29, 2009
I got a gift card for this site for my birthday and I selected a few items like this for example that were in great condition and didn't look used.
Not what I thought I was buying Aug 6, 2009
Warning: If you think you are buying the audio Bible study sessions that go along with the workbook, do not buy this set!!! I bought the CDs and workbook, thinking I was going to sink my teeth into another wonderful Beth Moore study, and boy, was I disappointed! Other Beth Moore CD sets are audio versions of her videorecorded Bible study sessions. Those series capture not only the text, but the enthusiasm with which Beth Moore shares her message. I thought that's what I was getting. Instead, what I have is a narrator who is not Beth Moore reading the book version of this title, not the study itself. I also bought the workbook that goes along with the Bible study sessions. Now that I've opened the shrink wrap to listen to the 30-seconds that told me I had the wrong CDs, I can't return the set. I've wasted my money on both the CD set and the workbook. Please don't make the same mistake I've made!
