Item description for A United Order Model for a Globally Integrated Society by Barton R. Bowen...
*Frequently we hear talk about a "New World Order" or globally integrated society. In fact, it seems like everyday we hear in the news about progress toward this end. A United Nation's military, a common currency including the most recently designed "Amero," a North American superhighway, and establishment of a newly formed regional "Trade Bloc" called CAFTA are just a few of the agenda items pushed by highly influential people who seek a "globalized" world. Have you ever wondered, specifically, what life might be like under the currently designed New World Order plan? Ideally, a NWO would definitely eliminate poverty-that particular part of the current plan is very commendable. However, from what we hear, the upcoming NWO is also supposed to be run by only few, very wealthy and powerful elitists who intend to create a so-called "utopia" by means of compulsion! In other words, it is to be a market system where the democratic elements including free choice of what gets consumed and what activities gets undertaken are dictated by a small ruling class. This book brings hope to the otherwise dismal situation by exploring the foundations of a global political-economic system that not only eliminates worldwide poverty but also studies the possibilities of eliminating elitism and ensuring that free choice reigns supreme-a system where "all things are held in common" and everyone is consecrated their preferences conditioned upon a principle of accountability called "stewardship." Everyone who is interested in a New World Order-one that is based on free choice-will enjoy this book.*

Reviews - What do customers think about A United Order Model for a Globally Integrated Society?
Interesting take on an age-old idea Jul 14, 2008
I found this book very interesting. It asks the question: Could a central form of global integration within society avoid the pitfalls of domination by the elites? That is a common fear among those who are against a so-called "New World Order" or a more powerful United Nations.
Mr. Bowen wonders if a global society can be created that respects the rights of all, and clearly adheres to democratic values. Part of his model is based on a United Order, a theological theory. Bowen makes a strong case for his arguments and the book is fascinating to read, mostly because it has such a unique argument.
One shouldn't possess that which is above another. May 15, 2008
This book is the first of its kind to address this particular economic model in detail. It is thoroughly fascinating. The points outlined are exciting and fresh. They leave one curious as to what it might actually be like if such a model were implemented. Many will find this motivating and will help in researching such a model. Bowen brings this model to light with faith that it will work and bring a better world. Now with the world in more turmoil than ever, this will indeed be a light to everyone participating. Everyone! It appears that 'better way' Communism has failed and 'beloved' Capitalism has wronged us. What now? A United Order. It's possible for everyone to truly live equally and to live with an abundance of all that is needed, even Peace, Prosperity, and True Joy through Free Choice. Many thoughts have been compiled within about the different angles of a society with this model. It's evident by the author that many activities will take place and many more people will have to make this their focus in order for this model to be the standard. This book is a fantastic start. The author does a good job of helping the reader see what it might be like to live in a society with such a model of economy. He breaks down the positive and the negative points of previous and current models-including his United Order-to help illustrate what we desperately need and then explains how to achieve it. This is a great book and a perfect economic alternative to what the world has hitherto seen. Please pray for the naysayers. Thank you.
Great Book Apr 8, 2008
Very good book. It touches base in areas that many don't think or are perhaps afraid to explore.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in the economic future we are likely to face someday.
Outstanding!! Mar 17, 2008
I was one of the first people to have had the opportunity to read the entire book. It was fantastic! Ingenious! It was very well written, easy to understand, and very well organized. The contents of the entire book were very analytical yet uplifting, positive, and gave me a feeling of hope for a better future.
The book provides a superstructure or foundation for an entire global system (a New World Order) that could be used to help bring justice, equity, unity, and peace to the world someday. The United Order model presented seemed viable, and it was very interesting. It obviously needs to be tested someday before one can conclude of its plausibility.
I especially enjoyed the literature review in Chapter 2 and the Bill of Rights located in the appendix. Preserving democratic processes using administrative law was new to me. I suppose administrative law could be a way to prevent elitism. I thought the analysis of the possibilities of implementing a money-less type economic system was very thought provoking.
Although the price is a little steep, I recommend this book to everyone. You can learn a lot from it.
