This book was well written. Content was realistic and humourous. It gave me hope that I can also overcome if I believe. I really enjoyed reading the book. Chaplain Black did an excellent job with this book and I am looking forward to read other books in the future.

Should be required reading for all children who believe they can't achieve because of less than ideal circumstances.

I love autobiographies - and I think that this is a great one. Black not only talks about his life as a child - to his life as the Chaplain of the Senate - but he also covers the religious aspect of how to live our lives. He gives God the credit for where he is in life - and seems to realize that God gave it all to him - and that God can take it away. This is a very good book for people to read.
For guidance and uplift Jan 3, 2007
As you begin to read you become aware of the fact that such success is not common in 'real life' and yet this fact based book is a reality. The driver is spiritually based and yet not so heavenly focused that it cannot do any earthly good.
This read is awe inspring and refreshingly self revealing as each page demonstrates the life of a human being who has achieved so much, has been so successful and has done so with humour, elegance and humility.
There is a keen feeling of hope and success as you go through the "fairytale-type" facts of Dr Black's life. The story is emphasised through the helpful 'lessons learnt' guidance which can be applied in your own life.
This book is a comfortable and comforting read that is 'juicy' until the last page.
