Item description for Church Suppers: 722 Favorite Recipes From Our Church Communities by Barbara Greenman...
Church Suppers celebrates gatherings of neighbors, family, and friends with delicious, down-home recipes from all over the United States and Canada. These are the dishes we remember and cherish, that bring us back to a simpler time: Fiesta Dip, Red Flannel Hash, Sloppy Joe Turnovers, Green Bean Casserole, Earthquake Cake, Blueberry Buckle...plus many regional and ethnic foods: Moussaka, Jambalaya, Chiles Relleos, Babka, Cannoli, and more. And because the recipes come from real people with bustling families, busy work schedules, imperfect kitchens, and realistic budgets, they are easy to prepare and focus as much on simplicity as they do on taste.
Full of local flavor and rounded out with line drawings and anecdotes about the contributing churches, Church Suppers is a delightful addition to any home kitchen.

Church Suppers Jun 22, 2008
It is a very nice cookbook with a lot of nice recipes written in an easy-to-use format.
My only criticism is the way it is bound, making it difficult to open and close at times. However, I would not let that one negative prevent purchase.
Nice Big Book Feb 13, 2008
Got this book today and what a nice cookbook quite a large book. Lots of good recipes can't wait to get started. My sister looked at it to she said what a NICE book I may order her one.No pictures of the food you are making but easy recipes most wouldn't need a picture.Personally I like pictures but this one is great even without them. Nice little writings mixed with recipes makes it nice to read too.
Good food Feb 8, 2008
Some of my fondest memories as a child are the wonderful church potlucks our little country Baptist church would have once a month. The recipes that I've tried in this attractive cookbook are easy, down to earth and just plain yummy. These church ladies know their way around a kitchen. God bless them. :)
Great comfort food recipes. Dec 29, 2007
I gave this to my mother as a gift and she enjoys the diversity of recipes. This is reminiscent off the recipe books that local organizations publish to raise money that contain favorite recipes contributed by the locals.
