Reviews - What do customers think about Six Weeks to a Simpler Lifestyle?
Nothing new here, and very Bible focused Feb 11, 2008
I didn't get anything new out of this book, and although I am a person of faith, I found the extremely heavy focus on the Bible to be a hurdle to the message the authors are trying to get across. Unless you are a fundamentalist Christian, I would recommend looking elsewhere for help in deepening your walk into simplicity.
There is much to be said for the value of creating an empty life, so that God can fill it up ( a bowl full of rocks can hold no life-giving water ) but many texts have done a much better job of addressing the practicalities and the spiritual aspects of emptying ourselves out. I would look to FlyLady's website for the practical advice, and simple, daily meditation to make room in your heart for God's presence.
Great Resource for Adult Bible Study Jan 3, 2007
Six Weeks to a Simpler Lifestyle clearly explains the benefits of prioritizing the many directions we might be pulled in the typical lifestyle most of us live. Using journaling as a self-examinaton tool and a reminder of appropriate relationships with God and one another is well developed by the authors.
