Revell - began over 125 years ago when D. L. Moody and his brother-in-law Fleming H. Revell saw the need for practical books that would help bring the Christian faith to everyday life. From there, Fleming H. Revell Publishing developed consistently solid lists that included many notable Christian writers over the years. This same vision for books that are both inspirational and practical continues to motivate the Revell publishing group today. Reviews - What do customers think about Secret Believers: What Happens When Muslims Believe in Christ?
Eye Opener to real Jeopardy Christianity is in! Mar 21, 2009
This book presents real people put into composite characters to tell the scary truth about how Muslims are persecuted and some killed when they convert to Christianity. The Muslim community is so threatened by Jesus' grace. They don't understand that you don't earn your salvation. This is a book we are doing as a Sunday school class to help Muslims that need the resources and help to be safe in their new truth of Christianity. It's so hard to love your enemies but the book points out that maybe that is the only way to get Muslims to understand the difference between a forced religion they are used to, and the truth of God's forgiveness and love for all men. It will really make you grateful for Jesus and want to get involved with ways to make disciples for those who need Jesus the most. Read the book and get ready to hurt like you never have before at the truth of what real persecution is.
Secret Believers Feb 12, 2009
Very interesting look inside the Islamic mindset and the courage of Christians in a Muslim land. The story is told in the 3rd person, reads like a novel.
Absorbing, Encouraging. Nov 13, 2008
To put it simply, Secret Believers is comepletely absorbing and informative at the same time.
Also, the book not only educates you about the struggles that these people face, but does so with out discouraging you into silence... it thouroughly encourages you into action!
Great book life-changing Oct 22, 2008
This book was great. It is about Muslims who have converted to Christianity in tough Muslim-dominating countries. This book narrates the story of each of these newly converted Christians and the struggles they face, such as family struggles, abuse from their country, threat from Muslims. The narrations were very well-written. I couldn't even put down the book the way it was suspenseful.
This book literally changed my life, really (I'm not being cheesy). As a Christian in America, there is no persecution. It's easy compared to other places. In some Muslim countries, if a person was found baptizing someone, he could spend six months in prison. It showed me how great I have it here in America where I can be baptized as I was or baptized people and I can read the bible freely without the government after me.
I will never look at evangelism the same. It is a war out there and we Christians, especially in America where we don't have a threat, should really be giving our all for Christ.
(The only problem as I have with this book, as well as most Christian books is that they think all churches are fine. I believe and know from the bible that the Church of Christ is the only true Church. Brother Alexander makes it seem like all churches, denominations, as long as they believe in Christ, are true. The truth is: there is only one church. Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism. And baptism is not symbolic. Baptism is actually where your sins are forgiven (Acts 2:38) and you're saved. But great read!
Thought provoking read Aug 27, 2008
This book really touched my life. It made me think about how I live my life before others. The challenges issued pertain not only to how to live before Muslims but also the world in general. If they cannot see the difference in the lives of believers, how can they know the gospel?
