And the KJV Standard Text Edition is the Bible of choice for those occasions when you just want a well-made, good quality KJV text edition, with minimal extras. This edition offers the text of the KJV in an exceptionally clear and readable type, with red-letter text to highlight the words of Jesus. Although the text is a generous size, the Bible is still a comfortable size and weight to carry. There is a glossary of fourteen pages to explain some of the lesser known words of seventeenth-century English, and a Bible-reading guide.
Publishers Description The King James Version of 1611 has been the most widely known and quoted version of the Bible for four centuries, and has shaped both Western culture and the English language. The Standard Text Bible offers the text of the King James Version in an exceptionally clear and readable type. The size of the Bible makes it a handy buy for someone who wants an easily readable type, but not a Bible that is too heavy or bulky to carry. This Bible also has a glossary of 14 pages which explains some of the lesser known words of 17th Century English, and a Bible reading guide. Bound in a flexible French Morocco leather, the Standard Text Bible represents exceptional value.

Reviews - What do customers think about KJV Standard Text Burgundy French Morocco KJ533T (Bible Akjv)?
Horrible (-1 Star) May 7, 2007
I've given up on the so called "Cambridge Quality". They are sloppy in comparison to years past. The books are still sewn, however, they are using glue in addition to sewing the signatures. I do not mind although the glue is being used in excess to the point where the pages toward the binding have either glue drippings on the tail band or on the edge of the pages. Then on another occasion when I ordered directly from Cambridge through Baker Publishers, the two copies that I ordered were the hardcover text edition that were sent to me with the back covers detached down half the length of the spine. The fact that they sent them out in such condition makes no sense. You know I can understand if they want to increase the pace of their production, however, if they are not even going to inspect their production before sending them out to the consumers, then that explains where their commitment is. They are not the same as they use to be Twenty- not even Ten years ago. If you are considering buying a Cambridge bound Bible. Save your your money and buy on that has been bound in the States instead, because you will be getting the same quality for alot less money.
Easy on the eyes Apr 10, 2007
This is a very high quality Bible. The French Morocco leather cover is thick, yet soft and pliable. The pages were not stuck together like most Bibles when they're new. Large type is dark and extremely easy to read. Self-pronouncing text on difficult names and places is not distracting. Amazingly, this Bible isn't very heavy. The paper quality is nice, but if you use highlighters you'll want to use the dry kind to avoid bleed through. Great Bible at a great price for those looking for text-only Bible.
Beautiful Bible Apr 3, 2007
This has to be the most beautiful bible that I have had the pleasure to use. It is comfortable to hold, with the pages staying open when reading. The pages are crisp and clear with no clutter. This text only edition has the added advantage of no footnotes or cross references to distract the reader.
Again, this is a very well made Bible that is a great pleasure to read. And best of all its a KJV.
An quality personal sized bible Mar 3, 2007
I ordered the Cambridge KJV Standard Text Edition Burgundy French Morocco Leather Edition (43). This particular bible is handsomely constructed, especially considering the price. The leather cover, while slightly stiff and similar in appearance to bonded leather, is actually very high quality and you are able to immediately open the bible flat at any page. The binding is Smythe sewn with glue and the end papers are heavy and glossy, while the pages are made of a thicker paper than "onion". The overall size is about 6.5" X 8.9" X 1.5" and this makes it a very portable version. A handy guide to the meaning of many archaic words is included in the back pages as are some typically colorful maps.
In appearance, the text font is rather traditional, but highly readable; the text is arranged in the typical two column, verse format. The text size is about a 10 point type, I'd say. What is really nice is how clean the pages appear, with only the Word of God on them; not a single note or reference mark.
While I enjoy a reference bible, the keys and alternate meanings distract from the reading flow. Some will quibble about the limited editing in this version (Saviour vs Savior, bason vs basin), but the structure and translation remain true to the original. So, if you're looking for the authorized King James Version and want it presented without man's interpretations, this is a highly recommended printing.
KJV Bible ...the BEST! Feb 13, 2007
When I told my husband I had ordered me this Bible he immediately said "order me one also!"...which I did. We are soooooo happy with these Bibles. They are VERY nice. We love the fact that there are NO...yes I mean NO side notes and references which is quite refreshing. To have a Bible with The Word and not others input is very encouraging. Quality is fabulous!! I want to buy another one but I know that this one will probably last as long as I do. You can't beat it!!
