Item description for KJV Standard Text Blue Hardcover KJ41R by Cambridge University Press...
Overview The popular KJV Standard Text Bible-now with red-letter text to highlight the words of Christ.
Publishers Description Since the King James Version of the Bible was originally published in 1611, many printings, editions, and revisions have followed that have (often unintentionally) introduced numerous variations into the KJV text we read today. Using evidence as diverse as the manuscript work of the original translators and the results of extensive computer comparison of electronically held texts, David Norton has produced a scholarly edition of the King James Bible for the new century that provides the closest representation available of the 1611 translators' work. Arranged in paragraphs in a single-column format, The KJV New Cambridge Paragraph Bible with the Apocrypha is a careful restoration of an old master, complete with consistent modern spelling and punctuation, making it easier to read and study. Over a decade in the making, The KJV New Cambridge Paragraph Bible with the Apocrypha offers a new edition of a dearly loved text and restores the authority of the original translation. Anyone interested in matters of textual representation, publishing history, and cultural and literary history will appreciate this unique edition of the classic KJV Bible.
Community Description The King James Version of 1611 has been the most widely known and quoted version of the Bible for over three centuries, and has shaped both Western culture and the English language. This edition offers the text of the KJV in an exceptionally clear and readable type, with red-letter text to highlight the words of Christ. Although the text is a generous size, the Bible is still a comfortable size and weight to carry. There is a glossary of 14 pages which explains some of the lesser known words of 17th Century English, and a Bible reading guide. Bound as a hardback with an attractive jacket, this Bible represents exceptional value.

Reviews - What do customers think about KJV Standard Text Blue Hardcover KJ41R?
The text is bold and easy to read, and not too small. Dec 24, 2009
This bible is just the king james text of the 1769 edition with no notes or concordance or maps. This means it does not have a copyright, which is the type of KJV you want to buy. Don't buy a KJV with a copyright, because the KJV is not copyrighted.
I don't know why Cambridge uses this edition, that is, the 1769, because there are some corrections to the spelling and capitalization that took place in the 1901 Cambridge edition, so it doesn't make sense that they would make this the standard text. But it doesn't matter much because the corrections are few and far between and most people will never notice unless they are looking for them. However, I still prefer the PCE which Collins UK sells, and which I believe is available on this site. Here's the link to the the collins uk. KJV Black Leather Bible (Bible Kjv)
Cambridge KJ41R Hardcover Bible Jun 19, 2008
Quality sewn binding. Quality Bible paper with a minimum of bleed thru. Very handy dictionary of over 600 archaic words. Easy to read semi-bold text. Mercifully, Cambridge has chosen NOT to follow the pack with some low quality "Printed in China" junk that is becoming the norm. This text is "Printed in Belarus" and the jacket cover "Printed in the United Kingdom". My example is a blue hardcover (not black). It does NOT contain the Apocrypha. This is also a red letter edition "with the words of our lord while upon earth printed in red". Also "standard text edition" means the text has no cross references. All in all a solid value for the money.
